just read some posts on DUI of narcoticts I'v never been tester or know any vody that has but does anybosy mkow if they test for sleeping pills like xanax and rophinol cause there the drugs that will renders a persons driving performance the most

No, the saliva test only detects amphetamines and cannabis, but there is a standard battery of tests the police can use to detect impairment.

Obviously the issue is that these drugs are legally prescribed to many people - while they all come with drowsiness warnings, is it actually illegal to drive under their influence? I guess it's not, but you're right, it probably should be.

im pretty sure it falls under the same category as a DUI... ur under the influence of DRUGS... regardless of their legalities... now driving on dex is a different story... I think the answer to beating these tests is less meth more dextro... come on DDs get ur AintoG and do it right!

^do you know anything about drug testing??

As far as im aware, no they cant test for benzos or barbituates through their current saliva tests, but you still shouldnt do it :\

And im certain dextro will show up in a test. Dont post harmful information Zanoiel

According to VicRoads and VicPol, the saliva tests used in Victoria are designed to detect methamphetamine and THC only . The idea is to avoid community backlash from people being busted with prescription meds on board. Apparently, MDMA will cause a positive meth roadside saliva reading, but the lab result will show that it is MDMA, not meth & you will not be charged.

Of course, if you appear "impaired", police can administer an impairment test back at the station (nystagmus, stand on one leg, walk and turn) - if you fail that then a blood test will be taken. If the blood test shows up drugs then you will be charged with DWI - drive while impaired. This is a more serious charge than what you cop for failing the saliva test (XPCD - drive with illicit drug present).

^you should think of the saliva tests as a urine test. they wont say "how much" or specifically "what", its really only to detect.

if you get a positive result, a blood test then be required to determine how much, approx how long, and of what exactly.
