Misc Diltiazem and amphetamines - Exxperiences / Opinions?

I just stumbled upon this drug diltiazem "par hasard" and it's what I had been looking for since a few days - a drug that somehow counteracts stim side effects.

Will this have any positive effects on constantly elevated heart rate caused by stimulant abuse? (just curious, am healthy myself)

I've never thought about that, since it is primarily used as a blood pressure medication (which would lower your hear rate). however it does inhibit some enzymes in the CYP450 family which means it would strengthen the effects of the amphetamines (someone correct me if I'm wrong). I would imagine then that the 2 would cancel each other out--the amp is going to be stronger and cancel out the possibility of a lowered heart rate.

Probably best not to mix the 2 because of that interaction.

I have known folks who take various blood pressure/heart medications to deal with some of the side effects of stimulant use. Not unusual.
