Hey guys,

I want to take diazepam for my autoimmune condition. I have chronic HPA axis issues.

I need help evaluating whether the pro's outweigh the con's of taking low dose valium long term to suppress HPA axis overactivity. This is because I have experienced significant benefit from this drug on my overall symptoms. I want to develop a regime/method where I take it long term whilst also experiencing as little as zero to minimal short/long term effects, if possible.

I have an idiopathic autoimmune condition and react in varying severities to literally 99% of all food. I have both delayed and immediate allergic reactions. I experience both IGA and IGE allergies because I am both TH1 and 2 dominant, so I am symptomatic ALL the time. My two worst symptoms are brain fog and this wired symptom which are both activated by eating foods/chemicals I react to. Caffeine, Gluten, Dairy and Cigarettes are the worst offenders for example. By experiencing both IGE and IGA allergies and not knowing which foods I don't react to, this wired symptom (which would then lead to increased brain fog), would come and go in varying severities all day every day, which made socialising and functioning in normal society nigh on impossible, as one moment I would be barely functional and the next I would be completely non functional, as a latent food antigen would set off an autoimmune response.

Taking as little as 1.5mg diazepam has reduced my food reaction related symptoms by about 80% for up to 2-3 days, this is huge for me but not the main use I want it for. The main beneficial use for me is that it makes me significantly less symptomatic and stops the constant fluctuation in symptoms from the constant chronic re-activation and over-activity of my HPA axis, thus making me more functional in society. Wired symptom goes down 80% and brain fog improves as a result by about 30-40% from taking it due to the HPA axis being supressed.

I thought it's worth noting to alleviate confusion, that these allergy related symptoms I refer to are physical, not mental manifestations, apart from feeling on edge and irritable, because I'm in fight or flight and cognition significantly drops.

Bottom line: I want to create a strategy/method/regime for taking low dose valium for it's beneficial effects in as safest manner as possible, without developing any or at worst very minimal physiological long term negative affects.

If this can be done, what dosages, strategies and methods would you recommend?
(Taking into account the ridiculously long half life and time for valium metabolites to leave your system...)

The "experienced ones" and user's speaking from subjective experience in similar circumstances would be appreciated.

Thanks.

All the best,
YY

1.5mg every two days increase as need. Try not to increase your does for as long as possible and by as little as possible. You will become dependent on your medication though, but shouldn't become addicted (as long as you don't start taking recreational doses). Also if your buying this illegally, I think most doctors would be willing to prescribe such a low dose especially with your condition.
