Collide
We were stars who had collided
We had forgotten that’s what creates black holes
Sucking everything into the core
We thought our collision would mould a new galaxy
Instead it tore us apart
The stars in your eyes weren’t ready to die
And I see now that’s what colliding is, a death sentence
I thought it would be a beginning
A start from scratch
A melting pot of all our goodness to create a little utopia
I forgot about our bad parts though
Those inescapable traits that meant the dark matter became an issue
Now it’s bottomless
No light
No love
No trust
The pulsating radio signal clear for all to hear
It was our dying breaths, our warning to others

It really was amazing though wasn’t it?
The moment of impact, the bright white light, the fire between us, our infinity of little moments
I’ll never regret our stars meeting, our gravitational pull that brought us together
Even if we didn’t get the galaxy, we will always have the collision.

Aw, the cailleach armor she shields herself in does not well hide the romantic heart hidden within. 🦸‍♀️

Before anything: I really like this poem, has good imagery
You seem to be going through some stuff, and it always helps to write.
They're very good poems :)

But, now to the science: They're neutron stars, right?
I can't fathom a collision of regular stars making a black hole :ROFLMAO:

I love this whole idea about binary stars though. I always looked at them like lovers,
circling each other for millions of years, really beautiful

I’m really not going through anything. I write stuff in my dreams and I’ve just started to write them down in the morning when I wake up and post them here. It’s nothing really.

Also, I was definitely inspired by how stars circle each other for millions of years. I love looking at the pics of far off galaxies taken by whatever new space camera is flying through the cosmos at the time.

shit that's how my book started out. Not in written form, but I watched and could manipulate the story
bit jealous of people who can lucid dream like that. I have too frequent & disturbing nightmares to try and learn it.

Yeah, I absolutely love the image. Only nasa images I love more are the aurora borealis from space

This is heavy, grim. Wonderfully written.

And the way you tie it up is just beautiful.
