Bluelight Gathering(s) - Could this ever happen?

That's actually a really great idea. I go to a lot of festivals and very occasionally I meet a fellow drug nerd who is obviously hip to the online scene and I always wonder, but I rarely actually ask them. I've never randomly met a Bluelighter that I know of (I have met a number on purpose). Only one time have I ever met someone who recognized me from the Internet, ended up being the bass player in my band and psychedelic brother, he grew up reading my trip reports, it's a cool feeling.

Of course, mate......pick a random farm in Southern Ontario and I'll be there with a 10W 10K W sound system and enough skids to burn for weeks. :)

Look through the archives. I remember this happening and it was on the shroomery which I was on at the time, and it was discussed here as well of course.

Well, I just did a virtual meetup on Zoom with a bunch of friends from the harm reduction community. It worked really well and ended up being a blast.

That said, all participants were vetted and known first-hand by at least one participant. Even though Zoom is end-to-end encrypted, if Bluelight were to do something like this I'd highly recommend keeping anything at all incriminating to yourself. Sadly, in this day and age facial recognition software is an issue. Also, we'd have to assume that the meetup would be taking place with a police officer present because, well, there likely would be. It is what it is. I can't wait for a post-prohibition world ffs.
 
Me and my best friend who is also a bler drove to Carolina beach years ago to meet another bler throwing a beach party. Somehow the party got shut down by the cops, and a terrible storm at the same time. Saw lighting strike on 3 sides on 250ug of good L. That's the only time ive truly feared for my life, as on the beach, you are the tallest thing lol. Fucking crazy time.

We helped the dj pack up his decks and went to said bluelighters parents house and proceeded to just get wrecked. My dumbass had to drive back to SW Va and go to work that day....god that sucked lol. We were out of town for 19 hours total.

I do them for footy....been to Columbus on a 24h mission....loaded up on Foster's 1L at Duty Free on the border, couldn't see by the time the bus pulled up to the stadium. The whole bus gifted us their liquor on the way back because me and my bestie were still awake and keeping everyone else up.
Montreal as well....hop on the bus here in Toronto at midnight, beers at sunrise as the bus is pulling into MTL, straight to the casino til the match starts, pub after for a couple hours and back on the bus that spits you out at our bus terminal at 4am.

No Bluelighters though.....just pints, buses, trains, blackjack, and mouthy Montrealers looking for fights. Fucking good times.
 
A bluelight soccer team sounds awesome!

A local friend of mine, but also a bler drank a bunch of wild turkey 101 before one of our intermural matches. It was so fucking hot that day lol.

Sounds like the Sunday league dudes I used to play with. Though they kept it to pints, the pussies. ;)
 
Lol yea, there were some guys from mexico that had the field before us that and they would crush 30 packs of Tecate while playing. I dunno, everyone talks about enjoying a cold beer on a hot day, or after a run, or mowing the yard. I cant drink alcohol if im thirsty at all. The alcohol, no matter the style of drink, makes me more thirsty.

Hell, why not just a Bluelight drinking team, or league.
 
Yeah, I could never drink beers whilst playing. Especially not after the match like most of my squadmates.

Alcohol dehydrates which coincidentally is also what running around for two hours on a football pitch does. Madness.

Yeah, I went full drinking team when I tore my MCL at work and couldn't play for a couple years. I actually have never gone properly back into it....and that was 7 years ago. :(

I miss playing football ffs....I quit smoking last October and was planning on joining Sunday league again this year but coronavirus so who the fuck knows. Fuck you, Kung Flu.

I don't know if a BL drinking team or league is a safe idea. We have some serious degens on here and some recovered ones too! Can't be fucking with their accomplishments by busting out a drinking league hahaha

I'm down though... my drinking stats are pretty decent.
 
On the contrary. I think a badass Bluelight Viking style hall drinking festival/contest or a Bluelight "Games of drunk" beerfest style would be awesome. Could make it a private event such as a private club (think shriners or biker clubs) which can sell alcohol to anyone that pays dues at any time and don't abide by liquor laws that bars and eateries go by. At least, that's how one friend was told by the city his property was zoned for.

Some of the ones I met were cool, others delinquent.
