After I?ve made a solution of hydromorphone making sure to add the correct amount of benzyl alcohol (I use the make my own bacteriostatic water recipe with sterile water)and stored it in a vial, is it safe to keep the larger bottle of benzyl alcohol (not my dilaudid solution) at room temperature or does it need to be refrigerated? Also, can the dilaudid solution itself be kept at room temp if I?ve added the benzyl preservative?
