A certain vendor is selling a mix for euphoria that contains the following herbs/supplements and I take Lexapro (an SSRI) and was wondering if people know if any of these herbs interact badly with it and also I wanted to know if anyone has any reports as to whether or no they experienced calmness or euphoria from any of these.

I also use Klonopin sometimes so if anyone knows if these interact with that also please let me know.

I am guessing no one will know or respond cause when I post about unusual herbs I usually don't get responses, but if anyone could help me learn about these then please do.

Here are the herbs in the blend:

Camellia Sinensis extract, Euphoria Longana Extract, Aizoaceacea (Ice Plant), Theacrine, Schisandra Chinensis Extract.

It also as Agmatine Sulfate, Rhodiola Rhosia and Theanine, but I know that R.R. and Theanine are fine to mix with an SSRI and THINK that Agmatine is.

I'm guessing no one will know and I'll experiment with it anyway lol, even though that might not be a great idea.

If anyone has any info on these herbs please let me know.

Thanks

At first glance most of those appear inactive, and the active compounds in the ones that do contain them seem to be mostly xanthine derivatives similar to caffeine. Nothing in that mix strikes me as something that would produce a calming effect, although theanine taken on its own might do.

Well have you tried them?

How do you know for sure?

There are many things which by themselves might not do much but if stacked like that could.

It seems to sell fairly well at this one site and I'd think if it did nothing eventually they'd stop selling it.

I'd throw down the $15 to find out regardless if I think none of that stuff is likely to interact negatively with an SSRI.

what he said, with the last one Schisandra possibly having calming properties.

Well I guess I'll just have to try it to find out if I want to possibly waste a few bucks.

Doesn't seem like something I need to be concerned about with interactions most likely.

The problem is that - especially in the US - the "supplement" industry is barely regulated, and at times shady as hell.

"Herbal viagra" is usually just viagra (or an analogue thereof) sprayed onto inert plant matter, "herbal smoking blends" are just non-psychoactive planet matter sprayed with synthetic cannabinoids, "geranium extract" is just designer stims like DMAA or DEPEA, and so forth. So the question is not just whether the stuff you listed negatively interacts with SSRI's, but also whether there aren't any additional undisclosed ingredients.

If the manufacturer claims that the product results in euphoria, that is one giant red flag right there.

Remember, start low and go from there. If there was a "bad interaction", the effects would be much lower. That goes with any new substance. '

I'm on Lexapro (an SSRI) and the three herbs that I won't take are Passionflower, St. John's Wort and Gingko Biloba because they contain traces of MAOIs.

I'm sure that there are more but I'm not aware of them at the moment.

Stay Safe!!!
