Scene: You're extremely sick in hospital and on you're last days. You're children have come in to see you in what is most likey the last encounter you will ever have with them.

You can only offer you're children one piece of advice in life to help giude them through, what would that advice be?

Mine would probably be "No matter what the situation, never compromise you're integrity"

You?

I'm just going to edit the title for this because I think it's less of a hypothetical thread as we've had in the past, and more about the idea of imparting wisdom.

In the interests of forum harmony... we'll see how it goes :)

*beckons child closer, and in a deathly whisper*
"I have to be quick.... don't tell your mother but..... my secret stash of drugs and hardcore euro porn can be found... next... to ....the.......aaaaaaaaargh" =D

"For God's sake! Get out of here and go and enjoy your life!"

- Its not how you fall over, its the way you get up that counts ....

and if they are girls

- "crying is the refuge of plain women - pretty women go shopping" - so get out there and start shopping for a funeral outfit!!!! ahahahah

"I will be near you when you cry if just to say I sympathize and when it's more than you can take, I'll feel the tears fall from your eyes"

I would say don't be afraid to hurt because that's how you grow.

And fuck labels. Don't ever justify who you are according to someone else's idea of what that means.

And always take the acid.

;)

Don't take like too seriously... but seriously enough to avoid being a homeless person.

No regrets, a bad experince now makes for a good story later

'Learn the difference between "your" and "you're", not to mention "there, their and they're".'

Also 'follow your heart, question authority, and keep a firm grasp on your mind. Be trustworthy.'

Mm, I guess "Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do what you believe you can do."

Although that's kind of "teenager" advice, and I'm hoping I won't be on my deathbed when they're teenagers, since that would only make me 35.

If I assume I'm an old lady, and my girls are in their 60s, I simply can't fathom what I would say to them or even what would be relevant then. I imagine I'd just tell them I love them instead.

"Yes son, the breast is more expensive, however the thigh meat is cut straight from the drumstick leg, therefore MUCH MORE flavour"

my advice (which i keep on a card & show myself occasionally..) is..

live today the way you will wish you lived when you are dying..
