you have internet and your brain clearly isn't broken, is there any reason you couldn't partake in some of the many opportunities to work online? there are lots of non-skilled jobs online now, like article writing or transcription or teaching ESL. these are the most flexible options i'm aware of, which should be doable even if you have very limited means of otherwise pursuing employment.

at 39 you are still not to old to pick up marketable in-demand skills, such as accounting or software development, that could allow you to earn good money remotely and on your own schedule. most of the knowledge you need for both the technical aspect and the business aspect of finding freelance work is available online without charge.

i know this is not what you asked but it relates directly to what you asked. it's hard to be attractive while barely scraping by. people are attracted to a guy who works. Yeah my friend the first two respondents made some good points, but what I wanted to draw your attention to is this; if you are just interested in the odd lay and not a serious commitment, there are apps for that dude and it won’t cost you a dime!
