A Beautiful Day
by Ryan Haight aka Quiksilver
I can see the light
Just barely setting over the horizon,
There's nothing better to look at
The perfect end for a beautiful day
A ray of light hits my face
The light does not blind me
It is too soothing
I see a green flash as the sun drops
Why do they call this dusk?
Dusk is such a poor name for it,
If I had my way,
I'd call it pure beauty any day.

The poem above was writen by my late best friend Ryan Haight, known to all of you as Quiksilver. His parents put this poem the mermorial page in his year book. I have never seen this poem until today. Please feel free to leave any and all comments about the poem or Quiksilver himself.
Thank you

Mentally ablaze, seizing what fragment of sanity is available.
To far to reach any further, and further, you'll dive into my antidote.
Expressionless, I'm watched and sifted,
you said I'm gifted so which fruits are to be reaped,
sense is jumping from its home to preserve itself.
And all night I radiate heat.
This cavalier is on board and trapped beneath the hull,
its so hot down there, it seems to reveal ones basic needs,
and then you'll feel pains in the chest, like ravens jabbing at the heart with artificial beaks,
and feathers painted black like night and your needless heart.
Cant jump ship because it is your shell,
and you use it for protection.

I am so glad this got posted during Gemini, which rules Mercury, mythologically ruled by silver. I know that Dr. Love is hurting, as are others who knew him, as I did not. For me, this was BL's saddest and most feared hour. Ryan had the Mercury gift of communication, and the poem here is so eloquent and poignant.
