So ive been taking around 180mg codeine phosphate daily in one dose for around 3 weeks. I stopped 2 days ago and it has been over 24 hours since my last dose.

Would it now be safe to consume alcohol due to codeines short half life? Or will there still be too much in my system at the moment, potentially causing CNS depression?

Thankyou all!

I believe it is too soon. If you want to be clear and safe, I would wait another day or two. You may be clear on the codeine side of things, but probably still have some lingering, but your liver is still working. Adding alcohol is simply risking damage minimally.

Check wikipedia for the basic codeine info and make sure your liver is clear before drinking.

For future reference, may I suggest Milk Thistle or N acetyl cystine for starters. Those are known liver protecters.
