I am not talking about drug related just general local chit chat/current affairs/advice/shoot the shit related. In the past ten years I have noticed that the 'normies' have pretty much taken over the internet.
When I post to reddit for the local uk region or my general locality I usually ask things I would not even dream of being offensive yet I get attacked from every angle like it is a competition for who can act the most outraged for some strawman reason.
This has become a practice of sadism for me since I know these type of people are absolutely going to react in the same way but not knowing anywhere more people on my wavelength congregate in this new internet era I just end up posting again to the 'general' reddit forums seeking advice on such and such and getting immediately attacked once again by the mindless minions.
It is like every kid who really wanted to be liked in school and never said anything un-PC and always wore the latest fashion and only drank the state approved drug -alcohol- all banded together into those subreddits and their downvote trigger fingers are always just waiting for someone else to vilify and shame as an outsider.
I thought I would ask here since drug users are generally not your narrow minded main-streamer since that activity in itself would immediately label you as a deviant.
In terms of subject matter I just mean similar forums to this specific sub where people shoot the shit about general topics specific to their country/county and you don't not have to feel like you are treading on eggshells for fear of triggering some super sensitive hipster who wants to prove how 'virtuous' they are.
Back about yay 10 years ago the internet was mainly only alternative types, or at least more level headed, (although the trendies had started in with facebook's arrival) like me but now it has become so ubiquitous with smartphones and social media the mob rules the day and you can see it with youtube etc. now pandering to them by deleting accounts left and right which might offend their largest userbase.
So now the internet at large is no longer a sanctuary where have those alternatives like myself gone? I certainly spend more time than I should on the internet but I have also learned most of my knowledge from asking questions and testing ideas etc. from knowledge I gained from the net, or simply a sympathetic ear/eye when wanting to voice an opinion and get like-minded views. So I would still like to know there are some places where I do not feel like an interloper.
