Opioids Opiates give me the worst comedown I?ve ever had

Just wanted to chime in on this.. I?ve tried basically everything besides meth and some RCs and I gotta say that I never feel worse than I do the day after using opiates. Last time I used I had dilaudid and Percocet and I had a nice warm feeling for about an hour but the day after I felt like I had gone to hell. I?m not an opiate addict but I do have a fair bit of anxiety and depression and opiates make it 100% worse after the fact. I can understand how people can get addicted because opiates can make you feel normal and functioning in a lot of ways.. but when you start down that slippery slope it?s easy to fall off.

I find the comedown from opiates way worse than coke or ecstasy, although this is just my experience.

That's weird because i also have anxiety and depression and opiates never gave me a comedown, unless i took absurd doses. For me the high just fades into subtle content and then to baseline, never a comedown.

They do have a purley emotional comedown for me but it's more on the end of the opiates high itself...physically I still feel amazing

You're odd I think most would say stims have a worse comedown...in fact I would make sure to get opiates to treat the stimulant comedown

How do you eat or keep yourself hydrated while on opiates ? Btw, oxycodone sucks , compared to better opiates, IMO. There are ways to curb the crash.

What exactly do you mean Speed King? I take 3 opioids and a benzo everyday and I eat and drink regularly like anyone would. I actually drink so much water that my UAs at the doctor always look clear.

What opiates/opioids do you prefer? Mine are what I get from my doctor, methadone, oxy and Norco so I don't have access to stronger ones any more. Years ago I was tried on all narcotics and I felt Opana worked best but it's not an option now.

Opiaceos are very delicate drugs.

I think that if someone feels "normal" when he takes opiates he should not take them. This could be a sign of depression. I mean, if you suffer from depression/anxiety opiates are going to provide you with a moment of inner peace that can easily trigger an addiction. The same story for the benzos.

Personally, I like opioids a lot but I take them very occasionally and only recreationally. I hope I never use them to "work" because I know it would bring problems to my life. The people who use them for pain is another story.

To say you aren't addicted is a concern. Physically it is causing very uncomfortable feelings. Psychologically you're having issues, evident from your post. You wrote trying to prove you're OK. It seems that was for you. You need to recognize this yourself. But as a guy who became dependent on 80mg Oxycontin after a bad car accident in 2005, your post was familiar. Don't make my mistake, letting pride delay recovery. I'm sorry if in fact you really hurting. If I'm wrong, I'm sorry. Just be careful.

Regarding your comment on Opana. You do realize it is still available as a generic and works just as well, if not better. It's what I've been on for years and I definitely wouldn't switch from it for the world.

I know it's available but years ago my specialist picked Methadone as my long acting med and it still works. I was thinking of what else really worked for me when I mentioned Opana.I liked Opana so maybe it's good that I'm not on it.

I've been on these meds for 8 years except for Relpax for migraines and gabapentin for serious nerve damage, which we added around 4 years ago.

Qcriles I'm not sure who you're talking to, but I have many years of being compliant and I don't increase my meds or buy anything off the street. I smoke pot occasionally, but I think my doctor does too lol.

I never wanted to be on any medicine but after intense, crazy pain and several years of no sleep because of pain I'm fine with the compromise and I will tell my doctor if some of my meds stop working. We are a team and I trust him with my life. If I can't make it on my dosage we'll discuss what to do. But years of the same dosage works. But I'm an older lady with grown children so that could be why I don't abuse my meds.

I agree with that 100%. There?s no comedown at all for me, the high just slowly fades away. If you are addicted, however, then yes the next day can certainly suck. Usually that day my mind is 100% focused on ?how can I get more oxy (my drug of choice for opiate).

BTW I deleted part of ur quote just because I don?t have anxiety or depression issues. I hope u don?t mind I removed that part, I just wanted to quote the second part of your post.

Oh, never mind. I see that the OP mentioned not being an opiate addict. Forgive me, a close family member called me an addict for a couple of years, until they ended up in chronic pain and started begging for my medicine. I get weirded out now if someone says that because I am on a strict regime and don't cheat.

I wish I didn't have to take painkillers and benzos in order to function but when I remember the 24 hour pain before starting on this journey.....I'll take the medicine.
