(engineer attention) HTTPS? Not Secure? What's up with the security here?

FWIW if anyone's interested I got a response from bluelight admins that they're working on implementation of https! Yay for bluelight! Fine job guys!

Nice one. I pay $20 a month to Bluelight - hope that helps. Good on admins for sorting https. I imagine there'll be a lot more members then.

Excellent discussion; I have forwarded the request by SKL to our site engineer. I will relay any information that I hear to each of you in this thread.

Thanks for your patience with the process, OP.

Thanks to lolwhatzdrugs and bluelight admins. Crazy for a site like this not have at least https. Crazy for any site not to use it these days.

So uh, SSL is still a work-in-progress.

It's no longer rejecting webpage requests using HTTPS, but most of the objects and layout is missing.
The admins/engineers are well aware of this and getting the site on SSL is definitely 'in the pipeline'.

the server load issue is minimal with todays cpus and you can get a free ssl cert that shouldn't give any errors on http://startssl.com/ (well with most browsers) also configure the server to force https even if the user selects http and disable the unsafe protocols / ciphers

https is on its way guys. Should not be too much longer!

I am in the who gives a shit camp. If a 3 letter agency is interested in you your fucked from the word go. The best advice I have ever gotten is don't post highly incriminating shit on here.
