What career aspirations did you have as a kid? Has anyone gone on to fulfil that goal, or are you doing something completely different?

I wanted to be a doctor, specifically, a pediatrician. My teachers were impressed I could spell it and didn't doubt I'd go on to achieve it. I was a bit of a brain box as a kid and an even bigger dork, haha. Things took a different turn when I became a teenager and did the things teenagers do... Kinda sad looking back. I'm studying in the environmental field now though, and I love that.

What about everyone else?

I wanted to work in comics more than anything in the world...then life happened and I ended up getting shitty call centre jobs non-stop....I still work in an office now which is really a million miles divorced from anything I wanted when I was a kid, but it pays bills so that I can do art stuff on the side. I am happy with that :)

profesional sport player.
didn't workout although i guess there is still time and a slight chance of making it in something like darts or lawn bowls..

^ same, I was a very sporty kid back in primary/half way through high.

Wanted to play for Inter Milan.

apparently drugs are all the rage in sport atm too...bonus

^Ha, yeah, maybe I would have stuck with it if I'd known that back in the day.

Rocking up to training half baked didn't go down to well with a few teammates, wonder if they'd mind now.

i dunno, i know i can run faster ofter a few pipes though 8o

I wanted to be a professor of modern history specialising in low intensity counter insurgency operations & the eastern front in WW2.

Lets just say life did not work out as planned but I have a lot of books on those subjects......

Was pretty keen on this, pretty keen in that. Couldn't make up my mind and still don't really have a clue. I've probably left it too late, but wouldn't mind doing something with marine life.

I started off wanting to be an astronaut then I moved onto a fireman. By the time high school, it was mathematician, I got sick of that stuff and though I would apply the numbers skills to accountancy, that lasted about a semester, I did work experience at a animation studio which was awesome but I was average at best at drawing, then it was a sports coach by VCE. Then got side tracked for a number of years by laser lights and electronic music

I ended up working in the mortgage and property side of banking, now I work in insurance... Go figure...

I wanted to be a pilot. But i'll settle for geotechnical engineer now i am in my final year of Uni. Hopefully will finish off my pilots license one day though so i can rent planes and fly high and above in the clouds, love flying.

Was also a sportsman. I was a comp skier/snowboarder, rep cricket player, Soccer (but changed to Rugby when I got to High school), cross country runner (despite being a smoker at the time). But eventually drugs took over. SCUBA diving and snowboarding are my fav sports now.

I have always held on to my academic dreams though. Its a free ride for as many years as you can make it work for you

Marine Biologist first then an Astronaut. Ended up becoming a PABX technician. So not even close haha!

these days i reckon a pornstar would be pretty fun..

lol i nearly wrote that..

My friend wrote 'pornographer' on some document when he flew to someplace (from syd) as his occupation and they ended up taking him to a room and giving him a chatting to he told me, he explained to them it was a joke and they weren't very happy or amused. I think from memory that's what happened anyway. He said he regretted it tho hah.

i guess concert pianist would have been the main one haha

never got struck with the prodigy gene tho

nowadays i want a job that involves exercise + something that brings me happiness

Good one, I have quite a few friends who are fitness trainers now and they are doing quite well for themselves. Its a booming industry if you can get a clientele going
