Your Stillborn Swarm by Raz

it all grows loud
this stabbing din
angry wasps
smashing your skull
tiny crimson stains
painting your thoughts
wings trying to fly
buzz suicidal songs
snap on impact
and impact won’t stop
till your vision
fills with blood’s tint
and a post kill calm

Insert Happy by Ashley

Binary notions on thoughts lost
Only thing on from this
Is all that I want
A prison of such long days
With nothing to do anyway

Trying to find a missing soul
Circular propulsion driving cold
Too many days will pass
Hour upon hour passing swift and fast

And a lotus blossom is drifting
Across a sky, how I know you
How could it bloom so
Whilst I'm without you

Distant winds that haunt aloud
A song without a sound
But it shall not stay unstrung
I'm afraid now
A victim without a gun

cops are not mine by horsrider

So hot.
A lot of dust.
Lot of wind
Lot of dogs
Lot of cats
Lot of rats
Lot of cars
Lot of cops
My city...
My wind
My dogs, cats, rats
Dust. But not cops.

Retitled by New

Blood coagulating in flag's Triassic road
Living disgust undulating ad infinitum
No usurping our Kingly dolt
Flood of blood flying upwards and
Onwards
Fudging
Shit matrix disparaging worldly fiction
Fly's diction buzzing an inkling of hating
On an off-color chancing of conjugating fury
I'm shuffling in joy at pumping up my POW!

Will I? by Mugz

I wish to fly,
way up high,
but I must sigh,
I don't know why.

If this will show,
I will not grow,
I cannot flow,
With this low blow.

Will it stop,
will I pop,
Will I flop,
Or Will I drop.

a toxic hug by justinsayno

a toxic hug,
looking past you and out of a window,
you brought rain again, you always do.
I dont know who you fuck,
but i do know its how you pay for your smack
Our first born son will find words soon
what do i say about you ?
Poison in your blood, your brain and my soul
I'm waiting for you to go,
but hoping you will stay

Unbidden by New

Upload frosting forward pushing
Mushy fluff staining fury
Plush fur magically passing
Abstaining training for Aardvark
Four four two is difficult today
No Post A can grind my ass
Is a topic on your list?
Almost at finish, conjugation's a bitch
cursing is my parting blow
fuck fuck shit ass bitch damn - Hi, Mom!

love is stronger than past by horsrider

Why,why,why?
Just,just,just...
Past.Past.Past.
Past?Past!Sorry!
so sorry...
Ok.Ok!Ok!
Tomorow...
or Today?
Today?!
I'm comming,
I'm running...
You wait, Ok?

Hoi Polloi by Clintooo

I want
to transform
into a party of production.

Fill my trough,
I'll suck it down
for mass casual consumption.

Signal transmit:
Pickup GPS along my axis.
Today I bring my hoi polloi
communication all across our atlas.

ode to the dodo by Clintooo

solitary dodo,
last of your kind,
with nothing to try for
did you go out of your mind?

a casualty of hunting?
solitary harakiri?

what's a bird to do
born without grasp of
humanity's calamity brought forth
of no fright of our animal roots.

Half Moon Rising by StrangeLight

Half moon rising slowly
In closing worlds
twilight sings songs of midnight
Towards an undying artificial Autumn

With sharp obsidian shards of night
Kill us all
City lights
Bright through black wisdom and fog

With romantic calm
Stack us high towards divinity

Away from this distinct faction of past mortality
Born through stiff candor
Conspicuously vacant of spiritual doubt
A frail ink baby found in humanity’s rotting stomach

Sunlight dawns on canyon, mountain, and highway synchronously

Sitting,waiting
doing nothing
Two dollars
Four dollars
Six dollars
Fifty dollars
Now i can buy it
Half of gramm
Crows and cards

Tragic Matilda by Professoroak

A difficult task
To transmit.
My poignant conclusion
of my poor Matilda.
Without acting
Infuriatingly tacky.

Lost.
To an additional man
Subtract I
from all that always was.

I was told.
You got drunk.
I was told,
“him” had a family.

Romantic optimism.
Psychologically unforgiving.
An additional fun truism
of mass duplication.

Caustic Pain
Upon my torso
Illuminating and amplifying
Past Antagonistic passion

Caustic pain
upon my torso
No additional occasions.
For what was us.

Lost opportunity
Fills my lungs
Why now?!

Gasping,
Gasping
Gasping,

Lungs
Filling
with acid
Am I
Drowning?
On my own panic

Mind
Bolting
Imagining
Him,
You,
A
Car.
Your
Body.
His.
worn
out…
mutually

Tumult
Of inhalation
Snaps away my control
On what is.
And was.

Hands shaking
Mind racing
To an abyss.

I now lay
flora
on your tomb.
Too young.
Only thirty.

A poignant conclusion
To what was
Our story.

this is nothing but a prompt
for an anonymous ballot

our first annual
cobalt illumination
wordsmith awards

so, bury your pupils in stanza
and absorb absurd associations
until it dawns on you

to go this way,
or that

Two Poet Laureates

Congratulations to Raz & Prof. oak for co-winning this,
our first quad-annual cobalt illumination wordsmith awards;
bravo to justinsayno for running up;
and, thank you to all contributors:
a manic "Hooray!"

Today, my congratulations also go out to:
the moon;
the dodo;
and, to inspiration...
in any form it might visit us.

^
thanks for taking the time to organise the poll.
i enjoyed it, dont normally write poetry as such, unless you include texted haikus aimed at loosening knickers, or hate filled limericks about people who are taller and better looking than me

I second what justinsayno said regarding organising the competition and poll. Congratulations Raz and Professoroak, I enjoyed both of your poems particularly 'Tragic Matilda'. It was great to read a such a variety of different styles from all of you! :)
