A friend of mine(seriously) ordered 50+ Ecstasy pills from a European country. What would happen if they intercepted the package.(Most likely)

they would set up a fake drop and your friend would get arrested right after he picks it up

Knock on the door. Possible surveillance before or after. Won't be good. I'm not sure if they send out love letters for anything substantial. I'd say that tour in luck if you DO get a love letter, honestly. Tell your friend to be more careful.

So how do they know if the guy wasn't trying to receive the drugs. Couldn't you just plead that you had no idea and that someone was trying to set you up? I mean think about it, all you have to do is send 100 low quality pills to someone that you didn't like too much.

[Sorry but this post crosses the line between helping people with their legal situation and giving advice about how to break the law. It's a thin line and I know you were trying to help, but we can't allow this post. Thanks, Johnny1]

Right, OK, where are you?

If you're in the States, chances are that address and name will be getting watched if that package hasn't been scrubbed properly, although 50 pills isn't small, like 5-10 pills, so the door could even get kicked in pretty soon IF (I hope for your friend's sake) the pills haven't been packaged adequately.

Their vacuum sealed and in between some documents. We're in Texas, and what if my friend just never goes outside to get the package?

How do they even know that the recipients even wanted to receive the drugs? How does that work? I'm pretty sure they would just keep the package and leave it at that.

Yeah, how do they even have evidence that this guy DID order the packages? What if these guys sent it to the address of an old lady, what are they going to do watch her for a few days then tackle her to the ground and convict her because someone sent her some ex?

50 Pills is not alot, in the UK anyway just enough for a caution. Make sure your "friend" leaves no evidence for the police to find to link him to ordering the drugs, and he should be fine.

Also I hope your happy with your "rolls" from europe, alot of people I know do this succescfully.

enjoy!

If you refuse the package, I don`t see how any legal harm could come to you, unless they had, say, text message, phone call, or email records (any kind of communication) of your friend accepting a drug deal or sending money, things like that. If they have other evidence of that nature, they could still get your friend. Otherwise, they have nothing on him unless he accepts the package, as far as I`m aware.

Good luck with the "I didn't order these" defense. (that works just as well for drugs as it does for child pornography). Your motive isn't their concern. If an illegal shipment of a controlled substance (Schedule I nonetheless) shows up at your house, you're breaking the law. PLENTY of people are arrested for this shit ALL THE TIME and you, your friend, or whomever is next! Just search this forum for the same topic and you'll find plenty of examples.

good idea but that would not work. the goverment would see that he placed an order online with his credit card (intentionally)...what could be his ecuse:?..."sorry i accidentally placed a large purchased order of an illegal drug online by accident"...haha that wouldn't work in court:| sadly

but there is good news for ur friend..the likelihood he gets caught are so extremely low that i wouldn't sweet about it, probably less the 10%<3

Oh yeah - what I mean is they'd take the package and potentially watch the house/mail to the address...

[this part not allowed, sorry.]

I'd have him call a lawyer and get some legal advice, maybe have one on standby just in case.

A bit too general and melodramatic advice, here. Paranoia is allowed, but this is just plain schitzoid fantasy theory. Please note, I am not insulting you. I would hope you had someyhjbg better to offer this poor chap, ad he isn't likely to be set up the same way child porn stings are. Those are much more easy to prove intent, for a variety of reasons. If you think for one second thag a jury will believe that you can reasonably control what comes to you in the mail, your not making a sound thought. The UPS man walks up to your house, he thrusts the package into your hand unanounced, smkles and says "sign here please" and drlivers 4000 other packages the exact same way. No one knows anything. Guy asks his roommates if they ordered anything and if everyone says no, they open it and see if they got anything on the steal. Could happen to anyone.

From what I understand from the moment YOU are in possession of the package you are responsible. When you accept it from the mail man, or if it is left there, from the time you pick it up. You should never accept a package from someone you do not know.

if this was sent from a well-known company then chances are good it's already on the customs watch list and will get checked. typically what they do is send you a seizure letter and, depending on the severity of the offense, have LEO pay a visit to figure out what part your friend played.

this happens routinely for packages containing HGH/steroids, Cuban cigars and basically anything outlawed or illegal.

in all likelihood nothing more will come of it, if the package is intercepted, than a seizure notice and undoubtedly your friend's address will find its way onto a watchlist as well so he better avoid ordering any more dodgy shit from far away.

house call from DEA, customs, and all sorts of federal charges are sure to follow
