Weight Gain?

Well I'm currently trying to just eat as much as I can (of the right things)and get LOTS of sleep.

I'm gonna go out and get some creatine and some whey protein powder. I'm sure I'll start putting on the pounds doing this.

Only one person has given me an answer to my original question. 8)

Fuck creatine...it will make you gain weight, but it will all be water weight. I don't think you get it, so listen closely:

The only way to put on muscle (or any weight for that matter) is to be in a positive energy balance (taking in more calories than you expend). All the supplements in the world will not change this fact. If you have a fast metabolism like you say, the only thing you can do is try to "out eat" it.

PS, when you're trying to put on weight, all of you calories need not be clean. Eat as clean as possible, but don't be so strict with yourself that you make it impossible to put on any size.

If you're looking for someone to tell you that it's ok to juice when your diet and exercise routines are not on point...I have a feeling you came to the wrong place.

At the moment I'm just eating as much as whatever I can and making sure my main meals (6 a day) are balanced. I know gaining weight on creatine will just be water-weight but it's not expensive so I'm going to do it alongside a big diet and see what happens. I'll start lifting when I get some whey protein.

I'll be following the diet alvatore posted as best I can for a few weeks too.

IMO, that diet relies WAY too heavily on supplements. 5 shakes a day?! That's fucking rediculous.

My advice would be to go to the store, stock up on chicken breasts, tuna, steak, and eggs. Make a shitload of chicken breasts, slice them up and put them in a tupperware bowl. You can pick at that for a week, make sandwiches, wraps, chicken and rice, etc. with it...or just eat it straight out of the bowl for a snack.

Eat 5-6 (or more if you can) hard-boiled eggs for breakfast with some oats. Eat a tuna sandwich for lunch every day. Eat a steak for dinner every day with some brown rice or whole wheat pasta on the side. Drink a glass or two of milk every day. Eat some fat free yogurt, or peanuts as a snack.

It's as easy as that...eat as much protein as you can possible eat, and you'll have a healthy, well-balanced diet because most things high in protein are also nutrient dense.

Lately I have been eating pretty much what you've just put bulldog and yes there has been a little difference so I've been eating even more the last few days. I've had farts like never before ,heartburn and got to the point where I'm not in the slightest bit hungry but forcing it down. I'll be getting some powder but going to wait before the creatine to see if I get any results.

I'm looking forward to it, gives me a bit more purpose to my day I suppose.

Another thing, if anyone can answer this is between meals I have began to feel cold and weak until I eat... is this blood sugar levels or what, it's not very nice?

Any help appreciated thanks so far fellas, I've sounded a bit ungrateful in my posts, I'm not!

That could be low blood sugar, just make sure you're going easy on the high GI carbs, you don't want big fluctuations in blood sugar/insulin levels.

If you haven't bought a protein powder yet, I'd recommend myoplex original. 42g of protein per serving, and they come in packets so you don't need to measure anything out...just dump it in a blender with some water and you're good to go.

Use the shake as a post-workout meal, and you'll probably only need one per day.

That's what I thought I had a massive sandwich about 2 hours ago and I'm getting it now and I've got a headache too. I'll have a look out for it, should I be able to buy it at your average bodybuilding specialist shop in England, anyway I suppose I could get them to order it so that's not really a problem.
Thanks for the help, anything else you can suggest?

What kind of bread do you use for sandwiches? If it's white bread, that's most likely the problem...hit up some 100% whole wheat.

BTW, ebay has some good deals on the myoplex ~$1 (USD) per packet if you buy 80 or so...very good investment IMO.

I'll have a look now. I usually eat brown whole grain bread but the last couple of days I've had white breadcakes, maybe that's it?

Cheers mate.

Alright

this is how NOT to have a meal

2 cups some random cereal
2 cups 1% milk

another example of how NOT to have a meal

2 slices of bread
some tomatoes
some lettuce
3 kinds of sandwich meat
slice of cheese

aka a SANDWICH

an example of how to have a meal that will actually be useful material for your body to consume

1 cup steamed soy beans (shellless)
4oz lean beef/pork/chicken/fish (cutoff as much fat as u can)
2 cups 1% milk

another example of how to have a proper meal

50g whey protein with AS LOW OF SUGAR CONTENT AS POSSIBLE
1 cup canned kidney beans
2 cups 1% milk

yet another example of how to have a proper meal

8 oz lean beef/pork/chicken/fish
1/2 cup WHOLE WHEAT pasta
1 cup UNSWEETENED pineapple juice
1 cup 1% milk

use the above 3 meals, 7x a day, you can choose whicehever ones u want whenevr u want. With 3-4 of those 7 meals, take 2 tbsp of UDOS CHOICE OIL blend (google!). The first meal of the day, take a multi-vitamin/mineral supplement.

Do not eat anything an hour or two before you workout. 30 minutes before you workout, take the following;

30g whey protein
4 cups water

workout for absolutely no more than 60 minutes (I RARELY take longer than 45), then within 5-10 minutes of post-workout (I personally start drinking it on my last set of the day), take the following;

60g whey protein
50g dextrose
4 cups water

Within 1 hour of taking that post workout shake, consume one of the 3 meal options I provided previously.

Workout 5 days a week.

On the 2 days of the week you do not workout, and unless your planning on doing very strenous activities, reduce calories by roughly 25%. In otherwords, do not include the pre/post-workout meals on those days, and drop one of the 7 other meals.

Thats it. Repeat, everyday and in just 4 weeks, results guaranteed. Make sure you got a PROPER workout plan. If you want my advice on that ask...

Height: 5"6
Weight: 9 Stone (I think there's 14lb in every stone) that's all I know my weight in.

Diet on an average day (I don't know it gramn for gramn).

7:30am- Two Bowls of Porrridge

9:30am- Bacon/ Sausage Sandwich

Mid-Morning- Oat bar/ other snacky food

12:00- Ham+Pineapple Pizza + Snack

3:00pm- Sandwich of some sort

5:00pm- BIG plate of chicken pasta/ beef stew/ cooked dinner alternatively (always with salad/veg)

5:30pm- Snack

10pm- Cereal+Milk before bed

I drink Isotonic drinks and milkshakes typically throughout the day, along with the odd cup of tea. There's always little snacks inbetween too because the more I eat the more I get hungry.

I think that's pretty balanced? I really do try, I'm not looking for a short cut I know full well supplements do not substitute a good diet.
Jesus christ, if I ever ate that much I'd look swolen.

Now why on earth would you wanna get fat on purpose?? Gaining fat doesn't translate to building muscle more easily. In fact, it's gonna make it more difficult. Fat does not convert to muscle, so it's not like you can "get fat" and then work out to turn your fat into muscle. Muscle and fat are two completely different things. By doing that, what will happen is you'll atrophy your muscles and become even more out of shape, which, as a result, will make it more difficult for you to build that muscle again, and make your gains even less apparent.
eh? I was always told different, that it's easier to turn fat into muscle, not saying you can actually turn it into muscle, but the energy is there (in fat form) which is already digested etc, all ready to go and ready to help the body produce muscle... *shrugs*

or maybe it was just the cheif being nice at fat camp :(

I'll do it... I'm buying some whey protein tomorrow and I'll give an update in 4 weeks. Got any advice on a good workout plan?

You in fact CAN eat enough to gain wait. Everyone can. You are either working out too much and overtraining or you simlpy aren't eating enough. Try eating 6-7 meals a day and just keep packing the calories in.

i agree... overtraining, undereating, not sleeping enough, and burning too many calories (non exercise activities) throughout the day....

get lazy, get your fork, and get to bed.. and get in and out of the gym quickly...

so basically, work out less, and eat and sleep more...

if you eat enough, you will grow

uhhh dont forget the UDOS OIL. 6-8 tbsp a day is between 750-1000 calories extra!! ontop of your 7 meals + PREWO and PWO meals

The shit actually gets me 'high'. The oil that is. In such large quantities after a week or so I feel incredibly good all the time, mentally. Its great stuff. Makes the skin and hair and nails so nice, and I swear it helps keep bacne down on a cycle too.

make sure your eating every 2 hours

and if you want to snack, snack on ABSOLUTELY ONLY soy beans. They are the ULTIMATE snack food for you beleive me. The ratios of everything in them are really as good as it comes for a single food item + its insanely low GI rating, its win-win everywhere. You can just steam up 4 cups or so (takes 7 minutes in microwave for about 4 cups but will vary by microwave), toss em in a ziplock bag and haul it around with you for snack food. Tasty lil fuckers too, taste more like a nut than a bean.

Oh, and if you want something to drink other than water at anytime of day between meals (but dont skimp on water neither!), make it MILK! Milk is second best ratio'd single food item IMO. The combo of milk with soy beans is pretty much full spectrum amino acid profile + carbs + lecithin! + EFAs + totally low GI rating = absolutely flawless condition for growing like a monster, found just within milk n soy beans!

Ill compose some training info in next day or two, im too lazy right now.

If you follow everything exactly as ive said you will grow like a weed guaranteed, anyone here who eats anything close to as well as that can vouche for such a guarantee. DONT 'PARTY' EITHER. You can easily party away a weeks work in a single night. If after 4 weeks you aint impressed enough with gains, well then party till you die if you want, but if you wanna seriously keep gaining then your gonna have to omit any such shit until you reach where you wanna be at the least.

Thanks a lot mate, much appreciated.

*Searches for UDOS oil in google.

Ta!

its thats too expensive (for me it is cuz i add 2 tbsps to every shake) you can substitute olive oil.... its similar, but for the price, cant be beat (not exactly the same but offers similar health benefits)

if you're only using a lil bit then get the Udo's

good luck :)

I go with olive oil as well...Udo's is overhyped IMO.

^

no way. GET UDOS Uprising. I pay $50 for a bottle that lasts 3 months at 8tbsp a day 7 day a friggin week. That aint expensive AT ALL. If thats expensive to you your too broke ass to even have a gym membership so who you foolin liftin cinder blocks and parked cars, comon now be real.

You want expensive go buy some whey protein thats EXPENSIVE compared to EFA, you gonna bitch about what cost lots help the guy find some CHEAP whey cause I spend about 50x as much $ on whey as I do UDO's and im using your supposed 'overpriced' oil, pfffsssh, make some sense.

IF your in the USA I can help you get the absolute most premium whey isolate for $6 a lbs but you gotta buy by either the pallet, or 50lbs bag. Its handsdown best whey ive ever used in my life. You can get a free 1lbs sample bag from them before you buy just so you can see how absolutely premium it is. If your in OZ or the UK I dunno jackshit. I know a good place in Canada though if your there.

Always buy whey wholesale if your serious about gaining. You'll be using alot of whey no matter what whey you slice it ;)
