Here is a few reactions I've seen with my (EZ-Complete) test kit using stuff found around the house. This may help you test if your reagents are still ok and not too old.

Marquis: Sugar – Bright yellow then eventually turns dark brown
Aspirin - (unfortunately all the aspirin pills I had around the house also contained sodium bicarb and this made them show no colour change) if you do have aspirin containing no sodium bicarb then it is supposed to show a visible red reaction

Mandelin: 5-HTP – Quickly to yellow
Salt – Fizzes with no colour change

Mecke: Sugar – Brilliant yellow (maybe slightly greenish) then orange brown

Simons: 5-HTP – Reacts quickly to a dark greyish blue/purple

Robadope: 5-HTP – Very slow reaction. Initially looks light orange/tan. 5mins looks a slight greenish dark tan. 10mins darker & greener

well i am deffo happy to hear that they do change colour. -.-' i was worried, aha it went a misty colour insted of clear. but then went clear again, plus one has been leaking slightly (they are all stud up right) but lables have been coming off!

Hey, how do Mandelin-Testkits normally look like? I've some Mecke, Mandelin and Marquis-Reagent Testkits and all are clear (untested/unopened) except the two Packages of the Mandelin-Kits, which are yellow?!? Is that normal?

Btw, i store them, like recommended, below 35°C.

I have a question... I have had my test kit for a few months but have kept it in the fridge and been careful with the caps. Every time i test the colors seem to come out as expected BUT the puddle never turns completely one color. They are always really watery. Am i just not using enough shavings?

Anyone know how to test the Ehrlich reagent? I have some lsd but its not testing positive soooo is there anything else more common with an indole?

Little Bump, as I also think it would be very important to tell, what color the different reagents have on their own. E.g. my Mecke is also quite brownish, and I'm not sure if that's OK. I got it from Bunkpolice.

The Mecke I have from another vendor (shop.sin.org.pl) is almost black on its own.

The mecke reagent naturally darkens very quickly but then when it reacts the colours should still be visible. Storing in the fridge can slow this problem.
