New Years Eve -

December 31, 2003

Funky Element & Digital Domain Proudly Present:

"A New Beginning"

With a combined party production experience of over 13 years, Funky Element and Digital Domain combine forces to bring you a New Year's Eve extravaganza of immense magnitude. How appropriate to bring in this particular New Year special with what will sure be, one of the most amazing productions seen in the past decade. This past year has represented a chapter in our lives where we have lived in a majority of fear. A time of war where our brothers and sisters are killed every day. Despite the vast negativity that we see, each year we are given a chance to start something new. A chance to cast aside all the negativity afflicted on us or even which we have afflicted on to others. We are given a chance not to forget about the past, but to learn from it, and most importantly a chance to positively change it and to start a new beginning in our lives. This New Year's Eve we invite you to start a new beginning with us. An invitation to bring in the New Year proper with all of our friends and family from the entire east coast. A night of celebration and hope. A night where our scene will come together, make history, and show the world once and for all that we will not be held down by fear, we will not be swayed by war and terror, and we will not allow our god given rights and liberties such as the right to dance and rejoice be taken away from us. Funky Element & Digital Domain bring to you this New Year's Eve 2004 a celebration of a never before seen magnitude. A festival that will contain a broad range of superb world class talent. Massive sensory overloaded quality production, once again featuring the rock steady sound of Total Audio which will be providing there custom designed Turbo Sound (www.turbosound.com) system for the festival masses. High ceilings and a 5,000 sq. ft. wooden dancefloor, full concert stage, and state of the art light show Including 50+ intelligent lights and techno beams. Visually, Virtual Om and Larry Carlson will be controlling the three, 20 ft. motorized video screens as well as the additional 10 ft. plasma screens with their ground breaking array of custom visual technology. Nothing less then the best, therefore the infamous PAWN Laser team (www.pawnlasers.com) will be in FULL effect icing the New Years cake. Three full bars serving free non alcoholic drinks before the stroke of midnight. Valley parking, and for your protection our private and friendly security team will be on hand all night making sure your New Year comes in correct. Of course there will be one of the largest ever before seen New Years countdown, with live video feeds from Time Square. Most importantly this night will provide an opportunity not to forget... but learn from the past and celebrate the future. $55!!!! OMG It's Rabbit in the Moon though. They're the only ones I'm interested in seeing. *Gag* It's at the Amazura I don't know, I don't know if it will be worth it. Don't mean to shit on your party here Dank but this is damn expensive (yet it is on NYE so everything that night is always expensive which I understand) The thing that gets me is the venue, the Amazura blows and I just keep being reminded of the drum and bass room at Sneaky....you couldn't even breathe in there, and don't wanna spend so much money on the same type of experience. Will there be any improvements from last time?

8o $55.00 in advance, Tickets Will Be More During The Event 8o

GOOD FUCKING GOD!!! 8o

I have never seen a party cost that much EVER. I've seen plenty of $40 parties and even that is a little crazy.

Rabbit in the Moon is coming to DC sometime in December (they haven't announced which night yet though) and I can see them and pay less than 1/2 that. That's just an insane price :(

is it just me or wasnt boo7 a $55 party? i may be wrong, but thats what i remember... and if there was ever a shitty party Poo 7 by Stuck In the Mud Productions was DEFFINATELY it. I remember LOOOOOOTS of people payin the price for an already well-known-to-throw-shitty-parties crew.

for fucking NYE you should be GLAD to pay $55 for RABBIT IN THE MOON--and not just you know so-and-so FROM rabbit in the moon, but RABBIT IN THE MOON in totality. the drum n bass arena has a great lineup: adam f, empress, hexxus (jeff does some OFF THE HOOK really dark amen dnb), jo-s, datcyde (who i actually wouldnt mind seeing since its been so long, i used to love him then i hated him b/c he played so much but its been a minute by now)...

they rented the ENTIRE venue for this party--that means security, bar staff, cleanup crew, EVERYTHING: this is NOT an amazura event, this is a Funky Element & Digital Domain event.

i am never somebody to promote a large-scale high-priced event, but from the 2 parties funky element ive been to, they fucking BROUGHT IT. if i wasnt going to be in chicago for both christmas and new years visiting my boyfriend, you can bet your ass id be at this party. dont hate--these kids have done some awesome things, and when talent in both sound AND production is brought to a party it costs money--only then is it worth it, these kids have proved to me they are worth it. granted, i didnt pay for either of the parties i went to (thanx to comps and a great friend's birthday gift to me), im convinced, and id be willing.

Sorry for the rant, but I'm down for them so I was compelled to stand up for their venue and pricetag.

I would DIE to go to this party!!!! Unfortunately I have to work on NYE until 5, so there's no way I'd ever be able to get down to New York in time. But it's okay because New Years is gonna be awesome anyway, no matter what I end up doing. Hopefully I'll get the chance to see Rabbit in the Moon live another time, even if it's not on New Years.

my friends were scared when RiTM did one nation2. so it'll be tough to gather people to make it here. :( . ARGHHHH

Don't be sorry at all! You brought up some very valid points like the fact that you've been to parties by this production company and you think it's worth it. We can all respect that, and what you said does make the price seem more reasonable :D

Melissa, we could totally try to make this party. lol. or not... I'm not sure how far you are from NYC but even if you worked til 5 we could probably make it :\ I'll be there to hurry your ass along anyway!! haha. But I'm sure there are hundreds of NYE possibilities but I guess *maybe* we can keep this option open. =D

crazyy improvements to the venue from the sneaky party. the upstairs room is 150% fully air conditioned with seperate ventilation systems. and as far as us renting out the ENTIRE space putting in our entire personel, is also 150% accurate as well. btw.. the steap price makes up everything on the production end being literaly doubled in regards to new years. unfort., production wise n dj's charge double $ on NYE. but rest assured all who come down will be in for some wikked shit. hope to see you all there.

All NYE parties cost a buttload... so I'm not suprised.

With my 7 year old wiping out all my funds over xmas... I'll doubt I'll have this kinda money to celebrate NYE...

I'll have to turn up the charm and hope someone hooks me up with a phat xmas present.

:\

maybe i need glasses . but doesnt it say on the flyer $50.00 in advance.. ?%) werd.. $50.00 in advance i can digi it -

Nice edit dank!
But ya know... if you took 10 minutes to make the post look purdy and bold out the important info... more people would actually read it.

It's kinda long... drawn out and boring as currently posted. Just a suggestion.

DancinXTC,Starlight...i left for NYE last year from Boston around 6ish, maybe 7...id idnt hit that bad of traffic, i got to the city around 1030-11...AND it wasnt like i was going anywhere outside the c ity, i went directly to my friends house in Manhattan. Either way..just wanted you to know it may be feasable for ya :)

Hmm, we'll see then. Thanks, Jamie! I was thinking there would be a TON of traffic on New Years but maybe not. We'll see what happens.

^^ as if anything could be worse than the traffic you hit in NYC when you came down for Starscape ;) lol

Thanks for the tip Jamie =D I would think traffic in the NYC area would be insane as well...but then you have to factor that if we don't even get to the NYC area til 10:00ish or even later....MOST people will probably have been partying for hours at wherever they are going. So you'd think less cars on the road? But then again my logic isn't always good ;)

my friends were scared when RiTM did one nation2. so it'll be tough to gather people to make it here. :( . ARGHHHH

snicker-snicker..."it's alright"....snicker...giggle...bwahaHAHAHA

Sorry, that just caught me funny. I can see being afraid, if it's their first show - yeah RITM can come off strong. But THIS should be a good show. I like the lineup, a lot. I don't know jack about the venue (outdoors? cold/wet? I have no idea). I just wanted to chime in and say that almost any chance to catch RITM is worth it. Not just "so-and-so from RITM" but the whole damn Rabbit and all of his kick ass moon.

Someone post when the December DC show is and where, please. I'll see if I can make that one (NYE is already spoken for or I'd try to make this). For those that go to this one - have a good time for me, aiight? ;)

Also, can the original poster, or a mod, fix the damn title? I had to read a lotta text before finding out where in the world this is occuring. Thanks.

^
thanks, i didnt notice the location wasnt in the title.

as for ritm. i was under the impression that they split up. at one nation 2 it wasnt both of them. i thought only one of them goes under the title ritm now.

Rabbit In The Moon consists of 10 artists. 1 DJ, 2 Live electronic performers, Bunny , 2 VJs, 2 fire throwers / dancers & 1 sound engineer. it is a completer performance. you can check more about them @ www.rabbitinthemoon.com to get there full history. personaly one of my favorite overall live acts in the world for me . das why i booked em ;-) hope to see you all there.. and for those that see them in DC.. . your in for a treat as well. There def. a horse of a different color :)

Hmmm...then it's not the RITM I grew up with - consisting of Confucious and Monk....well, I suppose marketing prevails and a good brand name will continue to get used. Hopefully they've expanded in good directions, though I'm sure they are living up to the name otherwise they would fall off in popularity :\

I will definitely let you know =D

I can tell you that it will be at Cubik (formerly Buzz) at Nations in SE DC. And I can tell you that it is NOT on the 12th OR the 26th.

Buzzlife has not announced the December lineups officially yet (yeah I know it's November freakin 25 but what can ya do), however I know that POTD is confirmed for December 12th and Feelgood is confirmed for December 26th. I have been obsessively checking their site for lineups but the fuckers haven't announced it yet :( I'm going to Cubik on Friday though, with any luck they'll FINALLY release a goddamn flier!!!!!

When you see a thread in NE events about Cubik in DC, read it, I'll have RITM info in there once I get solid lineups from Cubik.

And I'll PM you, cause I rock like that ;)
