Hey!

I have two feet of thick San Pedro cactus, still in complete cactus form. Every time I have done mescaline in the past has been with a shaman who prepared it for me, so I don't know how to myself.

What are some good recipes for consumption? I have a sheet about it, but it aint heaps descriptive.

Any information on how to make it would be great!

Peace

nansnook.com has heaps of info on how to do it, and try 'search' in the Psychedelic forum. Nansnook is the way to go.

I take it your trying to avoid that horrid taste.:) Im yet to find anything that makes it easier to consume. Due to the fact so much of the 'goo' has to be drunk to get a desired effect its pretty much impossible. Just sip it slowly and endure the vile taste, the effects of mescaline are eventually worth it.

it's the same with mushroom juice!

it is the most horrid thing i have ever had the displeasure of drinking, but i do i everytime, with no problems at all, because i know what good things will come out of it!! ;)

i've never had mescaline before, so i don't know if it is the same!
does it taste better or worse than the homemade, black as black mushroom juice??? it can't be that much worse!?!?

my advice, is when you have the preparation ready, just hold your nose, and scull scull scull!

^^^ At least with 'shroom juice you only have to drink a few gulps worth. Pedro you have to drink a few glasses full, plus its MUCH more vile.:(

how sick does it make you feel??

eating mushrooms by themselves never made me feel sick, but when i had my first mushie juice, i was yaking for hours..... but maybe that was because i has already eaten 20, and had 1 and half cups of juice! big mistake!!
copelandia cyneceans(sp??) by the way!!

i really want to try some mescaline, but i can't find any san pedros to buy! i know i will have to let it grow tho!
altho i did see two small cacti in * the other day, that looked very much like san pedros, but they didn't have the species name on it, so i didn't want to waste my money if they weren't the right one!!
anyway to tell for sure if it's a san pedro?? i've seen lotsa piccies, but they weren't close up shots, so i wasn't 100% sure if they were the right ones!

^^^^ Its horrible. Each sip you fight to keep it down. Any place that sells cacti will know what species they've got. There growing wild all over the place as well. I obvisiouly won't name any sources but most major nurseries stock them. Oh, don't eat them from the wild to your familar with their identity. Erowid would be good to check out for more info. Pictures etc.

san pedros are easily availabe in australia and cheap as.

easiest way to know if its a san pedro is look for the lil tag at the bottom of all plants/etc which has its proper name.

In this case its Trichocereus pachanoi

EDIT: Maybe this is the biggest reason people cannot find 'San Pedro' ... because most of the san pedro I see are ONLY labelled Trichocereus pachanoi.

Trichocereus Pachanoi is San Pedro. Trichocereus Peruvianis is Peruvian Torch, then you have others such as Trichocereus Bridgesii "Achuma" and Scopulicola "Easter Lilly Cactus" as well as about 7 or 8 others of the Trichocereus genus. The last 2 may be lesser known but tend to be more accessible. The scopulicola is just as potent as the pachanoi, and the spines are almost non-existent. Very user friendly ;) The vile taste of cacti goo is but a part of the whole experience and should be embraced! =D There are quite a few aussie messageboards that specialise in the kind of info that you are after, they're pretty easy to find through a search engine.

:)

Hey samadhi: 'bout time we had an update on all this research you've been doing :D

hehehe...hey phase! The research is going very slowly, but inches are being gained every month ;)

Also, regarding the original question, if you do your research and cut the cactus correctly, in 6 months to a year you'll have new shoots. One more thing, if you have enough, just process the centre section and leave 10cm of the top. Dry it out, then replant it and it will grow...you'll have 3 or 4 more cacti.

i know it's proper name! i wasn't looking for it to say san pedro, i was looking for trichocereus pachanoi!
but at ***, i looked all over the pots, and at all the tags, but there was no name for it! the tag just said, Cacti!
all the cacti at ***(lots of diff varieties), have the same tag on them, saying how to look after a cactus, but it doesn't say specifically which one it is!

will just have to look around some more i guess!

do nurseries sell big ones as well, or only small ones??
because *** only had two small ones, which would have taken ages to grow to the desired length!

** EDIT, just realised BT edited out the name of the nursery in my last post, so i thought i would do it for this one! ;)

i bought one recently but when i got it home it looked too special to eat. so i potted it. perhaps i'll eat it in a few years...

they do look really nice, don't they!!!

but i would rather the hit!
altho, if it's big enough, you could just cut the top half off(or however much you need), and it should keep growing(from the sides). at least that's what i've gathered from erowid!

Yer, but this is one of the few substances i still respect and i want to really appreciate my first trip. besides, they're easy enough to come by and there are plenty of other psychedelics to get high on:)

Thanks so much for the replies my friends, that is heaps good info.

I shall let you all know how it goes!

Keep an eye on trip reports in the next little bit!

Peace

Trichocereus

there's several different trich's.

I am a big fan of cacti, I mean I think my avatar explains it, it's a pic of lophophora williamsii from the gnome's garden that my tooth fairy knows. ;)

for a "list of Visionary Cactus", check out this link:

Visionary Cacti

hope helps, I know I am not helpful on preparing mescaline syurp, I am too lazy, there's hundreds of links here and on the net, its not that hard to find.

Goodluck guys and ladies.

No I believe the taste is just part of the whole experience of cleansing yourself.....you prolly just have to go through the bad to reach the good!
