Wheel (micron) filters in Victoria?

Hello everyone. I've tried calling a lot of pharmacies, but none of them seem to carry micron filters. There are a lot that sells syringes and syringe packs, but those don't include a micron filter. I'm looking for a 0.2 micron filter, does anyone know if pharmacies carry these things in Victoria? Thanks in advance.
 
id suggest contacting harm reduction groups that focus more on injecting such as vivaids etc. im sure they could help you out on where to get them..

just a little more about pill filters. there are only a few NSPs that do stock them, you're probably better off trying a drug user group which tends to stock more specialty injecting equipment. if you're in sydney (02 9557 1476) come see us at nuaa, vivaids has them in melbourne. you can also contact the company millipex and buy them in bulk. you will often have to pay $1 for them, but they are definitely worth it once they're demonstrated. you can also buy a couple of different sizes, to provide a progressively cleaner mix. for pills start with a 1.2 micron filter, and then put that thru a .22

while pills are obviously not meant to be shot, a lot of people do (i used to always shoot my e, whether it was in powder or pill but i roll a lot less now, and i want to get every minute out of the experience - injected e can get metabolised pretty fast. and i tend to agree with phreex, it can just be too intense. my body can't stand up to that sort of impact anymore). your veins will get fucked up evry fast unless you are using an effective filter, and these really work.

Thanks Big Trancer, I've been inquiring about mircon filters this past week. Info. extremely helpful. These seem like a necessity if you decided to IV pils.
 
if you want my advice its best not to IV pills, try to get some mdma powder, its of a much higher purity which means less active substance in your blood.

I'm not going to inject pills, I'm planning to IM ketamine once and IV meth once. Both of the substances are powder (unfortunately), and I'm sure there's a fair bit of unknown cuts in the powder. The URL above goes through several rather scary possibilities, and I'm interested to know if these occurances are common. This is probably going off topic, but I'll love to hear any user's experiences in injecting street grade powder ketamine, meth or any other substance. Thanks in advance!

I don't mean to sound in a harsh way but Just hope someone won't say "famous last words" to you..... a lot people I know often said... "oh well just once" but they often ended up using more than once....I know because I said that once and now used few things more than "once". 8)

I seriously advise you not to IM powder. IM should really only be done from a vial, as the risk from nasty infections is much higher for IM than it is for IV, and there is almost bound to be foreign material in cooked up ketamine. You could seriously end up with a big abcess or worse.
That said, I wouln't reccommend IV'ing ketamine powder either, one point will straight out K-hole you. (I've done it, wrote a trip report too)

Also, I wouldn't try using a needle unless you are prepared to accept that you may not be able to turn back once you have tried them, trust me on this.

ON TOPIC: You can buy pill filters for $1 from the syringe exchange on Smith Street (right near the corner of Johnston St) In Fitzroy.

IMing powder can and does easily cause nasty abscesses that can be difficult to treat, and result in having a chunk of muscle removed.

I've seen many people develop abscesses from IMing powder. Micron filters can reduce the chance of fragments getting into your shot, but they aren't a guarantee of safety. I'd say save the IM K for when you can get some liquid in a sealed vial.

Thanks again for all the informative replies! Yeah, it does sound like it could be famous last words, but I'll try to moderate myself if I end up enjoying it too much. ;) I appreciate all the advice about IM powdered substances, I've decided not to go that route after reading everything. The exact location of the NSP that carries micron filters is very helpfull too! This isn't really on topic, but I've read that meth does not need to be heated before filtering because it readily dissolves in water, and heating would allow more cuts to be dissolved. Does that sound right? I only have access to meth powder (not crystals), so it'll have to do. Again, the advice re:IM is very much appreciated!
 
Offtopic: ^ Sounds about right to me, meth is very soluble in water. If I was going to inject meth though, I'd wash it with freezing acetone first to remove the cuts.

The principle behind this is that meth is insoluble in acetone, whilst almost all the usual cutting agents are, so you're left with pure meth. Of course, you'll probably be left with very little, if your gear is cut to hell like most of it seems to be. There's a fair few threads about washing meth with acetone in the other drugs forum, I *think*.

Unfortunately VIVAIDS seems to have really minimised a lot of the specialist NSP services they were offering. Certainly ring them to check - i'd suggest talking to Joe Kim, the Young Illicit Users Project Worker - as he will most liekly be able to point you in the right direction if VIVAIDS doesn't have them.
As you're lookig to experiment this probably isn't relevant, but if you do develop a liking for it, and for others reading this thread -you can order them directly from Millipex - but its not the cheapest buy (I think about AU$44 a box) so not worth it just for one or two.
If all else faile message me and I'll send you a few down from our stocks here at NUAA (technically reserved for NSW users, or I'd offer straight away. So I have to say look elsewhere first.)
Those familiar with me or my posts know there are very few things I will say "Don't do" about. IMing pills is one of them - even in a well filtered form.
In fact, AIVL Handy Hints, which is now my bible for safe injecting info, specificaly warns against the IM or subcutaneous (skin-popping) injection of speed, e or coke. The tissue just isn't able to distribute those substances into the bloodstream and having missed occasionally with speed (admittedly that's skin-popping, but the principle applies) it hurts like fuck!
Why you would IM anyway i'm not sure (except where IM is the recommended MOA), there is virtually no rush (speaking from experiences IM with heroin and various pharmaceutical quality liquids)
 
Appreciate all the replies! I'll definately do the acetone wash first, I've been reading up on it and it sounds like a good idea to do that to further purify the meth. Labrats sells the pill filters at A$6 for singles, which sounds a bit expensive. I think I'll try VIVAIDS first and if all else fails I'll give you a PM mibrane. Thanks again everyone!
