Childrens shows that offended people for ridiculous reasons.

Some times a show like Invader Zim comes along and understandably causes controversy. But other times people make something out of nothing...

I could count ANY 4kids dub of ANY anime... same with DIC. Sesame Street was hounded on over Katy Perry and her tits. But I wanna point to MLP

MLP has pissed people off atleast 6 times
1. An article surfaced before it aired, calling it "Racist, sexist, and homophobic", citing rainbow dash as a negative stereotype of lesbians, and Princess Celestia as being racist due to the fact she's white and in charge. The article read like a Christwire article, but liberal. However, it was real. It would have made a funny article on the onion

2. The episode entitled "feeling pinkie keen" was considered "anti-sceince" and pushed god belief onto children

3. The episode "over the barrel" was considered racist, because it portrayed the settler ponies and buffalo as equally bad. Many claim that the show should have been more "historically accurate" if it had the settlers be 100% evil and the buffalo 100% good.

4. Derpy was censored for being a bad portrayl of the mentally challenged

5. The fanbase itself created controversy after drawing erotic r34 pics of Stellar Eclipse, a pony in "Trade ya!" voiced and designed by a teenager with Spinal Muscular Atropy... some felt it was offensive to draw porn of a handicapped kids OC... And well, you got a good point, what the fuck is wrong with people?

6. Before FiM even existed, some feminists feel that MLP in general is sexist simply because it's pink, girly, and as they claim, reinforces stereotypes about girls entertainment. Especially since the 80s were very polarized... you were either into MLP and rainbow brite or you were into Transformers and GI Joe.
But Carebears was for 4 yr olds in general. So it had muliti-gender popularity.

Invader Zim is awesome...
FiM means "friendship is magic" which refers to the 4th generation of MLP.... the one everybody likes, everything prior to it was shit.
DIC refers to DIC Entertainment. Which produced cartoons and dubbed anime.

I'm not sure I really understand the new MLP. But, yeah...if you were a boy during the early 80s you didn't watch MLP.

This is what I don't really understand, as a child you have such a limited sense of what you are watching to begin with.

The Teletubbies... apparently they were subversively promoting [insert whatever you don't like] and would ruin mankind...

In all honesty the new MLP is an overrated but good show. However, you have to respect where it came from... It came from shit. The show went from being awful to being decent. In retrospective, that's a huge leap.
However, even if you didn't have a limited sense of watching stuff as a kid... Children can recognize quality. The original MLP was shit... pure and simple. There was nothing good about it and I'm possitive girls cared more about the toys than the show. MLP has 4 generations. And the first 3 are shit.
That's why MLP had never been popular with males or adults before... because there was nothing of quality to obsess over. Now that there's an MLP show that's even half-way good people are surprised.

MLP G4 isn't even that great compared to your average anime... but MLP now is a masterpiece in comparison to what it used to be.
