in what way does it feel different? Burns more? feels worse for sure? Just awful?
The best way my friend can describe his current insufflation experience is: upon sniff, a nice, mellow burn, it nearly chokes his it's so dry, and within moments the sensation and texture of clay on the top of his soft palate (if he snorts way too much, then also on his adenoids and tonsils.) It certainly gets him high as hell. It feels, according to him, more sludge-like, with the generation of far more mucus than he remembers. He contrasts it to insufflating methylphenidate (Ritalin) IR, and feels that more of the powder from the Ritalin was absorbed far more completely and not left as an overwhelming amount of mucus and material left as chunks and drips in snot; he says by comparison it's as if his nasal mucus membranes don't "do their job" as well with the Teva Amphetamine Salts as they do with Ritalin, nor as he remembers name-brand Adderall as a teenager (when he used
a ton of it.). As far as lower intranasal bioavailability, he lays that squarely at the feet of over-usage of his stimulant medication, with daily insufflation of
some amount, as small as 10mg but usually 20mg, of stimulant medication and rare binges - he doesn't want to go without his meds because of school, so he'll binge once or twice a month 100-150mg Amp Salt in an all night and next day affair, and make up for it by taking less for many of the remaining days of the month. Indeed, the over-usage of all of his (and other people's) CII controlled substances has occurred for half his life, with Opana, Roxicet, and OxyContin being so menacing and addicting from a serious doctor connection that it ruined his life [and as an active drug user he never wants to touch another opiate again out of the desire to never go through withdrawal]. Has had to start all over in a new place and change careers; his town shunned and ostracized him due to the psychotic manner in which he acted. He abused CIII sedatives (MANY Benzos as a teenager and some as a post-bachelor's degree young man, and those rare occasions when he could get barbituate-based migrain medicine or phenobarbital from a vet Rx) but he doesn't abuse his Klonopin Rx which is fairly high at 8mg/day. He only mis-uses it when he wants to catch up on sleep, it doesn't get him high at all, no benzos do, not even Xanax bars. He actually has very real anxiety and panic problems, maybe as a result of adolescent abuse of the class of drug regularly, but regardless he needs his Klonopin to function, to go on job interviews, to give presentations. He says it's really bad and constant.
But this is about Teva Amphetamine salts, 20mg, orange footballs, b 970 / 20, and he says a clay-like feeling and a surprisingly copious amount of mucus in a surprisingly rapid amount of time, left sweet and full of medicine, even though they're IR. Of course these comparisons are to a set of memories that was over a decade ago, and memories fade when people do drugs for half their life. Who knows if the recollection is even accurate? He is just curious if anyone knows if that's true or is the the nature of adderall and he just can't remember.
