some of you may have read this, which is the usual beat up by australian journos over pillreports. another disposable tabloid has picked up the "story" and has bad-mouthed us all. they are also running an online poll here:
http://mxnet.com.au/index6.html
could i ask all Bluelighters, and anyone else for that matter, to please vote in this poll. I'm not asking you to vote one way or another, just let your conscience decide :)
A big thanks to all that help us.

Done :)
Everyone go to this site, and support us by selecting 'NO'

I voted, 70% so far say no to governments cracking down on internet websites promoting drug use. But anyways this website doesn't REALLY promote it, it just helps to minimise harm if people are going to take drugs, which everyone knows is inevitable anyways.

:X :( :X :(
In my opinion, I think the "war on drugs" is just a diversion to sway our attention from something else the government is plotting....

^^^ i know, ridiculous isn't it. i'm more interested to see if they will actually post the results of a survey that says 70% of people support drug websites :)

Just voted NO
Werd to Johnboy, that's a very good point, will be interesting to see if they do print the results... It's for tomorrow yeah?
F...

I dont know when it is for, i think they print the results after a couple of weeks?
If there is more of a response from people all for the drug websites, not against. I honestly dont think they will print it, becuase it will jsut prove they are utter fuckheads.
:)

well i just voted. its at 85% no at the moment.
i'm of 2 minds about this topic. it could be the government hierarchy trying to fool the general public into thinking that harm minimisation sites such as bluelight.ru and pillreports.com are actually promoting drug use, or it could be that there are sites out there that tell people to take drugs. i would personally vote yes to get rid of these sites. i've never come across one of these, but surely they exist. if there can be a website for amputee strippers, i'm sure there would be one for that.
another thing, i think that if a poster in pillreport says that people should 'go out and get as many as they can' of a particular pill, that he/she should have their post edited. it's a site for harm minimisation, not pill promotion. it really bugs me when people do that

That signout's mine InSoMnIa you gimboid! ;)
Voted No. 1 for FUCKING OFF THE GOVERNMENT!

..ta da de..ta da dum...oh sorry...just humming a little Mozart..
Well, I abstain.
Because the poll question is FEROCIOUSLY and absurdly LOADED with assumptions that in fact are unrelated to the article (in todays evening edition of that ubiquitous and dodgy rag, MX).
First of all, the govt. has a hard time cracking down on websites devoted to anything...that is the nature of the beast. They cant control online gambling (visit www.crikey.com.au for more on both sides of politics' interests in that) any more than they can stop digi-cam images of Xavier Boys rowing team in their speedos appearing on porn sites.
The other BIG assumption is that Bluelight, for eg, PROMOTES ILLEGAL drug use. Read the FAQs. It doesnt. People who come to Bluelight, like humanism, do so of their own accord, after the fact. Without coercion.
The poll is ridiculous, and while I enjoy the ridiculous, and will party WITH them, I wont be PARTY TO them.

yeah we are winning for once, they won't publish them unless it is automatically published or something

LOL! I bet they put some stupid qualifier line in about us advertising the poll on bluelight and all going and voting... ;)

Boppychick: Exactly, bluelight is good rather than bad.
They better not shut it down, or bluelight!
what well we do. Shit, imagine the BL closing down thread, there'd be like part 307.
You can bet your arse I'm voting!
*Edits post*
Voting NO I mean. Bluelight doesn't promote drug useage, esspecially not in the social and events forum's which I mostly read. And anyone who promotes the selling of drugs or where they got there stuff or anything gets flamed hardcore don't they?
I purely use pillreposts.com for safety resons and safety reasons only! If it wasn't for that, who knows how much trouble certain people could be in.
I doubt it's a government scam, just something else to bitch about. If these fuckwits go to know some of "us ravers" they'd get this fucked up sterotypical image of us outta thier head. We wear baggy jeans and bright coloured tops, run and hide people.
Shit, they print in the paper 'Guy Overdoses on heroin' but they don't print, 'Guy Takes 2 Pills, Has Safe Night Cos He Did The Research On What He Was Taking'
It's harm minimization, not illegal substance promoting.
Just wanted to voice my opinion, sorry if it sounds aggresive (ignore angry face icon :) ).
Also mod's, if anything in this post is against guidelines, please feel free to edit this post yourselve's, and just email me on my mistake. I don't wanna get myself in trouble. Thanks.

Ok just got home from work and was asked by a fellow bluelight user to vote and will do after this. Hope i aint to late if they publish results tomorrow.
Anyway just quickly.
I am not at all suprised in this conservative age that the present government wishes to crack down on websites such as this. Voting no is a vote against this present environment of conservatism and this does not just go for drugs.
Many of us are knowlegable on drugs and understand that this sort of legislation that the government wishes to pass is doing the social problems that we already have with drugs no good. We are aware that sites such as this are intended for 'Harm Minimisation' and to close them down will only increase the problems we have.
Such a depressing age i live in :/
Maybe i should cheer up and watch 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas' ;)

um as far as i know the government has said nothing about actually clamping down on us, this is just the usual media beat up...
