What to do with this money?

Apart from sending me on a nice sun kissed vacation... What do I do with this cash from the fundraiser?
Now, I have around $500-$600 (which makes me think lots of u FREELOADERS didnt pay *giggles*)
Anyhoo- I could send it to the head honcho's overseas, but converted to $$ american it gives them sweet FUK ALL!
So I was wondering if u guys have any ideas....
 
Get in contact with Jase or skydancer and ask them how to do the donation thing to bluelight - and please actually give the money to bluelight (US dollars if you have to) because as they say, every little bit counts.
But the biggest reason to do that is because that's what I donated my money for - it's not really fair to collect money for a specific reason and then do something else with it (even it it does benifit bluelight in some way).
 
well, i didn't attend... so its not really my place to be suggesting. But i reckon donate to a charity. Or (and i can hear the protests from the animal lovers starting already about the horror of zoos) but i know in sydney you can sponsor a zoo animal which would be pretty exotic cause then we could have a commodo dragon as a mascot and a plaque gets errected next to their nice, sub-reality enclosure so you'll get free bluelight public advertising.
"This commodo dragon is 6ft long and eats little children for breakfast. Feeding times are 8am, 12 mid-day and 4pm. It is proudly sponsored by Bluelight."

considering the fundraiser was meant to raise money for bluelight, i'd suggest sending the money to the head honcho even if its not much after converting american currency.
afterall, its the thought that counts and the fact that u bothered to organise and hold a fundraiser in bluelight's name.
and well, to use the money for anything else would be contrary to what we set out to do.
and errm yes, i did attend the fundraiser cos i thought i could do a lil bit for bluelight.

Can I just state for the record that if this money is going to go to anything other than bluelight then I'd like my money back. That'd be like asking money for cancer patients and giving it to the RSPCA (to choose a random example).
 
The money should go to bluelight.
Obviously when converted it won't be much, but that is bes.... what pleo said.

Unless Jase or Skydancer tell us they don't need the cash, then we can decide who to give it to instead, and my nomination would be Enlighten...

BFB - i would ask jb's advice on this one first but donating it on behalf of melbourne bluelighters via the means mentioned in that link is probably the best idea.
 
If Jase or skydancer actually say that bluelight doesn't need it (and they post that fact personally in this thread), then Enlighten would be a good alternative - but I can't think of anyone else that the money should go to (not that there aren't any other worthy causes, but I'm sure you know what I mean)...

Oh, and yeah it might seem like I'm getting a bit narky, but it's people's money we're talking about - and I could barely afford to give $10 to bluelight as it was. If it not going where I was told it would I think it's fair that we are allowed to re-consider our donation...

you can fly from New York to DC for US$300
if bluelight can use that money to fly Sasha from NY to DC in time for him to spin when im in the states than thats money well spent.

I didnt go, so I dont know if my input is welcome, but i have an idea. Would it be feasable to put that money towards another fundraiser in a few months time, make the next one bigger and possibly raise more money?

Hmmmm... I dont think BL should actually be organising any serious parties atm (PANADOL).
But yes Enlighten would be my second vote if BL doesnt want our grubby money.

What I meant was..... if the $$ converts to SFA, then MAYBE some of the funds could go to enlighten..... or MAYBE we could find some other way to use the money for bluelight in a way that would get more BANG for our BUCK..... I don't know HOW so thats why I was askin.
Minus of course my holiday that I'll be taking.. *giggles* SERIOUSLY tho......
I'll email the head honchos and see what they think. But coverted to $$Americano = approx $250.. eeeek!

Well, why dont we hold some more semi regular BL fundraisers (store the $$ in an unknown named bank account-maybe term deposit for that extar interest) and send the $$$ when it reaches an agreed value. Say $2000 or $3000. Shouldnt take *too* long?? Seeing as the first one kicked ass, we should hold more and all around Australia.Come on other states, get to it!!
