Film Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

the Tell us about... thread suggests that people are excited about this one. film threads are cool. they have polls. and promote focused interaction. sucks i am making this one. because i don't know anything about the movie. apparently it is based off of a book with a lot of commas in the title? anyway, all green/bluelighters should feel very free to make a film thread when a movie excites them. make film threads!

Yeah its a great film and the book is good as well. Its about MI6 the British secret intelligence service. Its the same agency that James Bond is in but its the exact opposite from that character and franchise.

For one the character George Smiley is a realistic spy who doesn't use gadgets and all that nonsense.

So if people are looking for a film like James Bond or the Bourne trilogy you will be sorely disappointed.

i thought it was boring and didn't really follow it much but it was nice to look at and i fell asleep. i like the title though.

^Yeah I can see how some people would view it as boring.

As I said this ain't a James Bond or Bourne film or anything like most other spy movies you see these days.

If you came into it with those types of expectations than yeah you will see it as boring. But I dunno I prefer this type of spy film as it is more realistic.

Don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan of the Bourne trilogy as well as the James Bond franchise. But you gotta admit those movies are a bit over the top.

This was a pleasure to watch. Beautiful cinematography and sound editing. Story was a bit slow at times, but it built up well and I was on edge towards the end. Would recommend to anyone with patience who doesn't need much action in a film

+1. my boyfriend enjoyed it much more than i. other than some bare breasts here and there, i was bored out of my skull. i really wanted to like it.

I think this film might just have the best cast of a film in years.
