Vicoprofen Cloudy CWE (Solution: "titanium dioxide" in binders turns it milky white)
I apologize in advance if this is in the wrong section, mods feel free to move if you need to.
I've performed many CWE's on regular hydrocodone/apap tabs to great effect. Solution has generally been clear and worked well. Recently I have been prescribed vicoprofen (7.5mg/200mg) and have tried several times to CWE them but got VERY different results compared to the APAP extraction.
Procedure:
Crush Tabs, usually 5-7
Place in 50-75ml cool water
Stir and place in freezer to chill, but not to freeze
Take solution out, pour into a glass thru 2x unbleached coffee filters.
Never pinching or squeezing filter, I'm patient.
End solution is ALWAYS milky. When doing this with APAP, I got a fairly clear product. I understand that ibuprofen has a different solubility than APAP, but I'm wondering if there is some binder thats making the final solution white or do I need better filters or?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
