I recently purchased a bottle of lotion for dry skin for general use after shaving, and it is, to my surprise (after purchasing) medicated, with dimethicone (polydimethylsiloxane). I am used to liberally applying lotion without wondering whether or not I will suffer ill effects, because most other lotions explain that you can liberally apply as much as your little heart desires.
Is dimethicone toxic? Wikipedia claims that it is basically inert. Can I liberally apply this lotion post-shaving without worrying about it? Should I have gotten "non-medicated lotion"? It's good stuff; it works great. I just need to know that I'm not going to totally fuck my skin over.
EDIT: Hah, weird tidbit: McDonald's Chicken McNuggets contain polydimethylsiloxane. That's nice.
