Im going to thailand soon. Whats the legal situation in bringing back pharms? Are we allowed to have a three month supply or do we need a script? Interested in any info reguarding Viagra and Diazepam?
Importing drugs into Australia is a serious offence. Valium/Diazepam is listed as a "schedule B" drug refer link below (of cause valium is clearly not a Schedule 9 drug in the Standard for the Uniform Scheduling of Drugs and Poisons, ie like cannabis).
However, I can not warn you strongly enough against trying to bring back "schedule B" drugs into Australia without declaring. Oz/NZ treat otc drugs a lot more seriously than in the usa, so forget those USA websites which talk about importing and if it gets caught so be it.
A friend of mine was caught with a steroid subsance (schedule B) which he bought otc in asia. He was charged and had to go to court where he was fined several thousand dollars. He now has a criminal record in relation to drugs and is red-flagged by customs in Australia and overseas. Not what u want - makes getting visas tough in countries like usa, and u cannot rely on visa-waiver programs as u have a criminal record.
If you have a script and declare it you are fine. If you do not do either of these and are caught you will be charged with importing a controlled drug. Do a risk/benefit assessment and you'll realise it is not worth it.
And do not even think about mailing it to yourself. It will NEVER get through the x-ray machines in Australia, and you will be in deep shit if u are caught.
As for valium in thailand, readily available oc from all SMALL pharacies. Cost should be 3 baht per tablet, but 90% of places will try and charge 10-15 baht. Remember to get the blue ones which are 10mg.
Have fun - just leave the valiums in thailand!!!
