Base and meth in Auz.....why?

I was just wondering why you seem to have both base and meth on the general drug market. I like speed myself and if I could get meth I'd never look at the crappy base we have in the UK.
Is it a geographical thing? or are there just enough users of both to make it worth while for producers?
