Why is it that the vast majority of local producers continue to make bunk pills full of dodgy speed and k. Customers want MDMA. I am aware of the whole money / greed factor but when people pay for e thats what they should be getting not a local copy pressed with shit??????

It basically comes down to the inavailability of the precursor chemicals. In order to make MDMA (which is illegal), you need a couple of ingredients (some of which are also illegal), and also certain types of chemistry glassware (the sale of certain types of glassware is also watched by the government in the USA, not sure about here). It would appear easier to import quality MDMA pills/powder, and locally produce pills with local ingredients (ie. speed).
One thing that you'll sometimes come across is a local group with a pill press who import a large batch of good pills, and then sell 1/3 or so of those on the street to let them get a good reputation, and then crush up the rest of the pills, bulk them up with more filler, and repress with the same logo and colour. That way they maximise profit by cashing in on the reputation of good pills, without having to procure gallons of precursor chemicals.
