Opioids Opiates making me wicked/hella (very) thirsty

Why do opiates make me really thirsty?

Is it because I am dehydrated before hand?

I seem to retain alot of the liquid i drink while high.

Is this dangerous at all if I drink around 48 ounces in 1-2 hours and don't piss until the high wears off hours later?

Could I actually be harmed by water intoxication?
 
Opiates used to make me very thirsty when I first started using them, The biggest problem I found is if I could chug a lot of liquid especially anything carbonated like a pepsi, I'd puke for hours. Drinking a lot of water is probably the best solution, but you might puke that up as well especially if you are doing heroin or oxycontin, its pretty hard to piss while you are on opiates regardless of how much you drink and I do remember getting my self in many uncomfortable situations when I drank a lot and then I'd have to piss and Id stand there and try to piss for 20 minutes and couldn't, sometimes sitting down can help you take a piss if you can't pee while on opiates.
 
I get thirsty sometimes & no, 48 ounces of water isnt dangerous in a 2 hour period. Im the opposite of both of you where I piss alot while on opiates.
