Why don't we have a chemistry forum?

If the reasoning behind that is, "because we will get shut down." Then how does opiophile and drugs-forum get away with it?? They even have pictures of members making EVERY type of drugs as they go step-by-step.

I would love to see that here. I bet many chemists would be glad to share their knowledge as well.

What does everyone think?

we don't have a chemistry forum because bluelight's main focus is harm-reduction not synthesis. you can discuss more complex chemistry questions in the advanced drug discussion forum. your 'many chemists' may share their knowledge there...

how do opiophile and drugs-forum get away with it? there are many possible answers to that question.

There is more news about people arrested for incriminating posts on Facebook and the like then forums but it has to be assumed drug forums are read by law enforcement. Clues that allow LE to zoom in on particular people can be pretty subtle and quite frankly once you open the floodgates on self incrimination some people are going to get very unsubtle.

Bluelight has a policy of not allowing people to incriminate themselves through their posts. Its for the boards protection as well as the members. As a harm reduction board BL would also be very concerned about someone giving out a really bad recipe that could kill or maim people. Even with good, solid info you end up getting people into synthesis who are trying things beyond their capabilities and usually it is not just themselves that are at risk but their friends and the unsuspecting public.

Chemistry is a rigorous academic discipline; becoming a competent chemist takes years of grueling work and a near-military level of self-discipline.

If you want to become a chemist, then enroll in university.

No web-based forum can help you in such an endeavor.
