The story of Nick Twisp (Cera), a unique, but affable teen with a taste for the finer things in life like Sinatra and Fellini who falls hopelessly in love with the beautiful, free-spirited Sheeni Saunders (Doubleday). But family, geography and jealous ex-lovers conspire to keep these two apart. With Sheeni's encouragement, Nick abandons his dull, predictable life and develops a rebellious alter ego: Francois. With his ascot, mustache, and cigarette, Francois will stop at nothing to be with Sheeni, and leads Nick Twisp on a path of destruction with unpredictable and uproarious consequences.

I thought it was pretty good, I watched it on my laptop today. I give it 4 stars.

thoroughly enjoyed the flick, although his alter-ego Francois Dillinger kept freaking me out with his blue contact lenses.

and you gotta love that all-star cast. justin long was fantastic in this.

Just saw this, and really, really enjoyed it about 2000% more than I expected to.

I really must read the book. Nick Twisp (the character) reminds me a lot of Adrian Mole from the series by British author Sue Townsend (now there's a series that demands a movie be made of it).

I wish the story had gone a little more in-depth (perhaps the book does) about how there is a Francois Dillinger within each of us; every human being is a constantly-fluctuating dichotomy of Light and Dark..... the Jekyll and Hyde phenomenon. And, while you can take lessons from each, ultimately each individual must decide which of his or her halves to encourage.

Still, very entertaining!

"A man can only take so much before his dignity demands he rise up against an absurd and unjust Universe."

-Francois Dillinger
