Which version was it?

Try the mother of all period dramas: Gone With The Wind.

I love period pieces as well. Some of my favorites:

- Elizabeth
- Elizabeth: The Golden Age
- Rosencrantz and Guildernstern are Dead
- Amadeus
- Gulliver's Travels
- Emma (1996)
- Les Miserables
- Amistad
- Cold Mountain
- Life with Father
- Little Women (uh, like all of them lol)
- Lonesome Dove
- True Grit

yayyyyy

its like an exciting list of things that are gunna make me so happy for the rest of the week
:)

thankyou dude
???
which ones the best out of that list???

My favourite is Picnic at Hanging Rock, but in my opinion, the most masterful period drama is Barry Lyndon. It's perhaps the most gorgeous (to both the eyes and ears) film i've seen.

Thinking about it, the genre is very loose/broad, and my favourite movie, Lawrence of Arabia, could even qualify. I don't think that's the type of movie you're referring to though. The Adventures of Robin Hood and maybe Aguirre, Wrath of God might fit into what you're looking for.

thanks dude

thnk ill check out picnic at hanging rock today
sounds awesome :)

It depends on which period you like the most.

I'd definitely check out Amadeus and the two Elizabeth films :)

oh oh oh i did get bought one of the Elizabeth films just havent sat down to watch it yet
im in a whirlwind of college work atm :(

The recent remaking of Horatio Hornblower was quite good. Not normally a fan of the genre (unless it's like Deadwood or something) but I got right into this one. A rollicking good adventure.
