I have heard that it restricts blood vessels making it harder for the muscles to receive the nutrients they need to rebuild after a workout. I imagine that it might be okay to use nicotine at certain times without problems, but definitely not for a few hours or so after a workout. It does have stimulating effects which may help with trimming down. It seems that non tobacco forms of nicotine can be safely used for shaping the body, but I am sure there are better ways which are less likely to interfere with building muscle.
