AWW YEAH! June 2nd 2001 8PM-6AM
featuring the talents of:
in the arena:
JOSH WINK (Ovum Rec, Philadelphia, PA)
All we can say here is WOW! If you were at ALIVE in 1999, you know what we're
talking about. 2 yrs ago, this amazing genre veteran and world-travelled
performer graced us with a set that opened up many minds and was talked about
in NE for a LONG time! Almost 3 yrs later, we are proud as all hell to be
bringing the man who put Philly on the map to town once again! Whether in the
studio releasing mind-altering music such as his anthems: "How's Your Evening
So Far", "Higher State of Consciousness", "I Am Ready", "Don't Laugh", and
many others; or dropping intelligent science with his full-length Hear Hear;
or giving the masses some deeper cuts of tech-house and techno he is always
on the edge of the future with his all encompassing sound. Whether its
pounding techno, classic and current house and tech-house, nu skool or d+b,
Josh defines the phrase "Global DJ". Playing every corner of the globe,
working with some of the biggest figures in the culture today (Carl Cox and
Josh's new track "It's the Machine" being a perfect example), or playing the
occasional intimate club setting, Josh Wink is one the nations most
recognized figures in the underground dance community. He brings an energy
unparalleled and a style that defies definition. You will just have to
experience this education to believe it! 2:00-3:30AM
GREEN VELVET (F-111, Relief, Cajual Rec, Chicago, IL) 100% live PA
Get ready for the stage to rock as the green-haired genie comes out to take
you out of your body and into his own private world of awe-inspiring
strangeness! Cajmere rocked Fresh Start over a yr ago and now we're very
excited to be taking it to the next level with his amazing live PA! Those
unfamiliar with his name will undoubtedly recognize his dance floor anthems:
"Flash", "Stalker", "Answering Machine", as well as many others, are still
heard and loved all over the world. 1999 saw the release of "Constant Chaos"
his lyrical journey through a myraid of musical stylings, but one thing
remain consistent: Green Velvet=funky techno! Funky techno make u shake that
ass and get wild! So get wild with us from 1-2AM as we prepare to float away
into outer space with the green wigged wonder! 1:00-2:00AM

reenergize the crowd and keep you motivated as we move on towards morning.
His contribution to the "United Djs of America" series is legendary and has
sold tens of thousands of copies. His latest ICU work "Clubnights V .02 Live

them together for a power-packed hr of amazing energizing music and you have
a tagteam set that will be unlike anything you have ever witnessed before.
The Trance Perculator and the infamous Knowledge go head to head (no pun

evening of pure magic. Techno done right, the raw unadulterated way, in your
face with much bass! Get to AWW YEAH early this night to witness one of CT's
true hidden gifts go off once again! 8:00-9:00PM
In the exhibition hall:
TECH ITCH + DECODER (Tech Itch Recordings, Bristol UK)
Since the mid 1990's when these two first joined forces, the UK d+b world has
never been the same! We are truly honored to present the 1st CT appearance of
these two universally influential artists to the venue tonight! With a global
djing schedule and constant mix projects, these two artists are guaranteed to
make you move like you never have before. With many releases on Tech Itch
Rec, Breakbeat Culture, and Hard Leaders, to their remix work for Peshay,
Adam F, Photek and many more these guys are rockin the studio as much as they
are the arenas and clubs! Live instrumentation, melody + funk, futuristic
sound effects and all the rest are common elements found in their multitude
of production work crossing many genres. With no signs of letting these two
are dominating the industry and will no doubt continue to do so for many yrs
to come. Much respect! 12:00-1:30AM
BAD COMPANY (BC Recordings, UK)
The collective commonly known as Bad Company have elevated themselves to the
realm of the d+b elite in the last few years by accomplishing the impressive
feat of releasing 2 full length albums in one year: "Inside the Machine" and
"Digital Nation". These two cutting edge albums featured some of the years
top anthems "Breath", "Infinity", and "Night Train" among many others. With
no sign of letting up soon they've since also put out some of their latest
singles, one of which "Mutant Jazz" the remix features Dj Trace. Still the
ones to watch, innovators Fresh, Vegas, B Bridge, and Maldini are gonna be on
hand to tear the house down and put on a show which the east coast hasn't
seen on this large a scale since their performance @ Whistle 3 last yr.
Enough babblin', get groovin! 1:30-3:00AM
DARA (Breakbeat Science, Moonshine, NY)
Since his first record release in 1995, Dara has produced a string of highly
successful singles and remixes as well as his 1997 full length debut –
Halfway Home. As a result from both his successful Djing and recording
endeavors, Dara has become one of the most recognizable faces on the US drum
‘n’ bass scene. Dara also hosted the weekly web-TV show Velocity
(pseudo.streetsound.com) on which he has interviewed some of the leading
names in drum ‘n’ bass. He recently completed "From Here To There," on
Moonshine that features some amazing tracks, including Dara’s own
“Duplicity” (Klute Remix). 3:00-4:00AM

Three years ago we introduced this aspiring talent to NE at All Out Sunshine

as US jungle djs go. His scratching is top notch, his discocography is
lengthy, his travels have taken his all over the US and beyond!
Philadelphia's #1 recognized junglist is coming back to CT for the first time
in almost a yr to tear it up proper so get ready! This party ain't over yet!

VENUE:
NEW HAVEN COLISEUM
275 So Orange St New Haven, CT 06510
With enormous high ceilings and two gigantic dance areas, the Coliseum is by
the far, the BEST venue we have ever provided for a dance party! The arena
for our primarily techno/house/trance room features the hockey arena with an
enormous wide open dance space which will be complemented by plenty of
seating OFF of the dance floor. The exhibition hall brings back the old
warehouse vibe with stone pillars, cement floors, and the raw feel that will
bring a tear to the true oldskoolers eyes. Bottom line, this place is HUGE!
We are honored to be bringing the first in what we hope to have become a
series of amazing events at this unbelievable location. So please respect
this venue and yourselves to the utmost. Plentiful concessions, spacious
bathrooms, and a breathtaking overall effect when you look at this place all
you will be able to say is AWW YEAH!
ARE YOU CREATIVE?
For the first time ever we are going to expand upon the idea of music, art,
and togetherness, by creating a forum for people to showcase their work. If
you paint, draw, sculpt, or do anything else that you want to have on display
for this event, we will be creating an area with the venue for you to
showcase your work. Submissions may be entered by emailing [email protected]
or calling the office 203-287-8398. Columns of Knowledge prides itself on

Guys, I don't know if I can make this one, I really want to, but I have to get an apartment, and I'm getting my tables in a little while, and I don't have any money to spare. Maybe if I can afford it, Columns of Knowledge puts on a lot of phat parties. The lineup looks fucking sick!! I really want to go, but I just don't know....
