That's great. Hopefully, W's place in history will reflect the reality of his administration's effect on the country and the world.

What a fuckhead.

Don't expect an Oliver Stone flick to reflect reality TOO closely.

Haha, of course not. Like JFK or The Doors? 8)

Actually, I'd like to see W depicted in an even uglier light than reality, if such a thing is even possible. :\

or inj'ns lots of inj'ns!

looks interesting yet still quite tame. here's hoping for some brutal criticism.

it is election season, time for the politico films to come out and play.

W. the film
a film by oliver stone

stone turns the gun of his normal 'based on a true story' propaganda this time on the bush family.
highlights include the father/son relationship, the early g.w. bush years including drinking and misconducts, and his not so swift ways he has responded in office to major events and questions.
all and all looks like an amusing watch if taken with the normal grain of salt that stone films demand.

what really surprised me was when i read that this is considered not just a bio and drama but a comedy also! maybe by calling it comedy, stone frees himself to be more critical.... i mean satirical of the current prez.

here's the cast photo i put up in the oliver stone thread

LOL @ Dreyfuss. He's a natural for playing Cheney. He pretty much played him (under the guise of Senator Bob Rumson) in The American President.

I'd love to see this one. Oliver Stone is one of my favourites.

stellar cast. absolutely fantastic portrayal. the only downside is the story structure, based on reality, has no significant plotline. stuff just happens. other small niggles are since the history is very recent, the story is still far too fresh. you aren't seeing anything new (or perhaps very little). and i think they used the "fool me once...." line in an incorrect setting.

outside of these small concerns, everyone involved did an incredible job.

4/5

Never checked this out. I just heard that it was utterly forgettable despite some excellent performances.

Yet still no oscar noms. See? No one cares...
