I make it a point to watch as many zombie movies as I can get my hands on. Unfortunately, this results in subjecting myself to hours and hours of some of the worst film making imaginable. Every so often I stumble across a flick that brings a little glimmer of hope to the genre. This time the glimmer came from the 2007 movie "The Mad" starring Billy Zane.

First off, everything about this movie is absolutely ridiculous. The plot, the dialogue, the acting... it's all sub par. Still, I was thoroughly entertained from start to finish.

The story goes like this: A father and his daughter go on a vacation. They are accompanied by the fathers cunty girlfriend and the daughters idiot boyfriend. They stop in a small hick town for the night and are promptly attacked by hamburgers. Yes, hamburgers. The burgers turn whoever they attack (or whoever eats them) into mindless killing machines. Wackiness ensues.

I think the best part of this movie was... god help me... Billy Zane. I typically can't stand the guy, but he seemed to have fun with the movie. He got to show off his comic side, and he nailed most (but not all) of the jokes with dead on timing and delivery.

This movie is not great cinema by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, it's downright awful. But it's awful in such a good way.

Long story short, it's obvious that the writers, producers, actors and director didn't take this movie seriously... so neither should you. If you are looking for an amusing way to waste 90 mindless minutes, give it a go.

^do eeeeeeeet! and then bump up this thread to post about it :)

i really enjoyed this movie! it's not scary or all that intelligent, but goddamn it was a fun watch. one of my favorite parts: the zombie discussion. lol.

*speed bump

I just watched it last night. I thought it was ok. Billy Zane has the personallity of a moldy sponge, but he was pretty funny in this.

Like you, vibr8tor, my favorite part was the zombie discussion.

Black guy - "Has anyone been bitten then become a zombie?"
Daughter - "Nick was bitten."
Black guy -"Then he was shot."
Dark haired woman - "Then he was attacked by a meat patty."
Black guy - "Then he was decapitated."
Billy Zane - "Ah ha! He did NOT become a zombie!"
Group - "Uh huh. Uh huh. True that."

That scene had me rolling. The surprise attack blowjob was pretty funny, too. All in all, I'd give it 2 and a half stars.
