and who is looking forward to Shutter Island?

there can only be one!!!!

GOODFELLAS. %)

currently in the lead with 100%.

and yes.

Had to say Goodfellas

all the others didnt strike a nerve like Goodfellas did

goodfellas is the most obvious choice as it is one of my most favourite films, but there are many works of fine art in that list that cannot be ignored. i am undecided as yet.

taxi driver, raging bull, the last temptation, kundun, gangs of new york, the aviator and the departed are all fantastic works. i even love bringing out the dead. oh the dilemma!

i would of picked more.. but i was limited to one

Gangs of NY and raging bull are also great movies i enjoyed

absolutely, but you only asked for the favourite!

scorcese is probably my favourite director. i've only seen 12 of those films, but after goodfellas i would say:

2. Gangs of New York
3. Casino
4. The Aviator
5. The Departed
6. Taxi Driver
7. Raging Bull
8. Mean Streets
9. The King of Comedy
10. New York, New York

when the standard is this high, however, i think the ranking purely depends on how recently you saw the film.

:)

The Kubrick poll atttracted a disappointing number of votes.

This poll is the hardest decision for me yet. It's really hard not to vote Goodfellas, but I have to go Gangs of New York. Goodfellas should still win fairly well.

Huge honourable mention to The King of Comedy. I love that movie and think it's easily DeNiro's most underrated performance. Hopefully it gets some love.

^ good reminder. i though i had voted but had not. i did now - last temptation of christ. so powerful.

fun fact: i have a friend who once had a landlord called rupert pupkin.

alasdair

I went with Taxi Driver.

The Aviator and Cape Fear are my other favourites.

I love all of em...but if I gotta pick, it's gonna be:
The Age of Innocence
Goodfellas
Casino
Taxi Driver
Raging Bull
:D

The Age of Innocence

Huh, that was it!. :D

Remember when I said something about you liking Dangerous Liaisons, I was confusing it with The Age Of Innocence.

Well, I was close. They both star Michelle Pfeiffer. =D

The Age of Innocence is one of those films that sounds awesome to me (being a total sucker for merchant/ivory type stuff), but i've never got around to seeing it. i really must. :)

true true I remember...you were ADAMANT that I mentioned
Dangerous Liaisons in the past ;) tsk tsk tsk *tiny spank*

you should... preferably without going to the toilet just before it ends. ;)

the impression i've always got from that film is that it's slightly too long, so that surprises me. :)

great observation there champ. i think i'll have to watch it again now. :D
