thanks.

The Poseidon Adventure (original)
The Day After
Krakatoa: East of Java
(Interesting note: IRL, Krakatoa is west of Java!)
On the Beach (Never saw the film, but the book by Nevil Shute is great)

that's all I can think of, but I'm sure there are others.

awesome movie, been a while since i've seen it but i highly reccomend it.

not sure if they fits in this catagory, but The Hunt for Red October and U-571 were both good.

The Stand miniseries, though the book is far better.
28 Days Later, a personal favorite.
The Omega Man is another cheesy favorite.

Threads (Britain's answer to aformentioned The Day After. it's on google video)
The Poseidon Adventure
Gojira (the original Japanese Godzilla)
