I'd like to start a list of personally recommended e-tailers you've either purchased from or intend to purchase from.
I did think about starting this in Second Opinion, but I think an Australian-centric one would be really useful. The sites wouldn't necessarily be Australian run, but need to service Australia as a rule.

Try to include any information you have readily available about the site - like what sort of products they offer, what the postage is like, and if they have any decent shipping deals or sales that can't be beaten.

Please avoid posting about large well-known sites like EBay or Amazon, but feel free to link us up to particular 'stores' or individual sellers on these sites.

Now without further ado, I now declare this thread...... OPEN! =D

http://www.seekbooks.com.au/Oh I love internet shopping! I think I'm addicted ...

Posters - http://www.allposters.com/

Great deals on kitchenware - http://www.kitchenwarehouse.com.au/

Boots for all sizes - this is a UK site, is not cheap but the boots are great - only thing is, you have to be very careful about sizing as it would cost a lot to send them back - http://www.duoboots.com/

A Brisbane only cupcake delivery site - good for work, weddings etc and taste gorgeous - http://www.cupcakesbyk.com.au/index.html

Discount shopping of all kinds - http://www.oo.com.au/

Beautiful things for the home - http://www.homecouture.com.au/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewbrand&brand=237&CFID=1736552&CFTOKEN=81746788

Awesome book site for those hard to find books - http://www.seekbooks.com.au/

Gifts - http://www.pinklily.com.au/

Ok I'll stop now ;)

What about www.etsy.com ? Its "your place to buy and sell things handmade" There are 100s of awesome stores on there.

I don't shop online very much (bar ebay) but palmercash.com have my favourite tshirts.

Can anyone who posts a link please ensure that they have actually conducted a 100% safe, from start to finish, purchase from said site. We dont want to refer anyone to a site in which they ultimately get ripped off

Anyways, Caveat Emptor and shop at your own risk

I agree this is a good idea for a thread, my contribution...

Belgian and Bavarian beers FTW!

Let me begin my long stream of posts in this thread. ;)

I've been wanting to order from Prickie for ages. They are an online store offering a huge range of individually designed badges by artists from all around the globe. Each artist receivs a commission for their badge sales, and the site offers free shipping on x6 or more items.

Some examples;

^Bwahaa, I can see this is going to be an enabling thread of the highest order. ;)

PS. Re: the issue of having ordering experience from the site you're posting about; I think it should be OK if people mention they haven't ordered from their site in question. That way they're in no way implicated if the transaction goes wrong. :)

As far as safety goes - I've ordered from all the sites I posted, some of them multiple times and have had no problems with delivery times, reliability and the products have been excellent.

I don't really think anyone can guarantee internet shopping sites though - only that people need to do their own research and be sensible; checking encryption, that the site has a valid address etc.

Fred Flare freaking rocks. It's an online boutique based in the states who sell anything and everything that is kitsch and a little left-of-centre.
Their items are mainly colourful, plastic and kooky and almost always totally useless - but I am in extreme want with most of their stock.

They don't ship directly to countries outside of the US or Canada, but I have known people to take out a mail forwarding service with AccessUSA - or just get someone in America to accept the items and send them on. They're. That. Good. :)
Keep in mind I haven't ordered from this site directly.

The T-Shirt Dude is another shirdt site [duh] but this one's based in Australia. A smaller more limited range of designs, but at $20- for the first and $10- for each shirdt thereafter + free shipping you can't really beat them for value. :)

I've ordered three tee's from this place, and they're hard-wearing and great quality cuts.

I concur with ByronStar. Wow, I really though concur had two r's. Shana Logic is a fine store, however, and I believe the postal system was the one at fault in my experience. I just like to take every opportunity I can to complain. Its just like Rated E (I think) told me once, complaining is like sex. I didn't know what he meant, and I stopped talking to him then, but I think that comes in to play here.

vividroom.com.au

Has great range of chinese style lanterns/fairy lights...ie. electric ones.

They are based in Australia and have v. prompt delivery and reasonable prices.

They also bizarrely purvey 'just married' thongs and those huge tubs of frozen margarita mix....

Beverley Beaute sells an assortment of nail related items, including Opi nail-polishes the cheapest I've ever seen them offered.
They offer flat rate shipping of $11- on all orders [even international], and have a prompt turn-around time.

I've ordered from these guys and can vouch for them, 100%.
I'll never buy polishes anywhere else again. For realz.

Threadless is one of my old faithfuls. Well, old as in ordered from a good many times, but only discovered in the past year. :)
They offer a similar service to Prickie, but for t-shirt designers. Expect anything and everything, with a searching function for stock in your size. Best feature ever invented. =D

I have several shirts from this site and can vouch for their usually great shipping times and prices, and the general quality of the items. The shirts are tough and long-wearing, and the cuts are very flattering.
I have only ordered when they're having sales, but believe me - it's worth waiting for $10 US tees!

Fishpond has been described to me as the Aussie' amazon.
HUGE variety of books here, with free shipping on all orders over $50-. The pricing is very reasonable, a lot of books well under RRP.

Again I haven't purchased from here personally, but it comes highly recommended.

C0TB: If you are going to be the predominant poster in this thread - maybe just do up one post with a list of your fave websites and a short description next to each?

Might make an easier reference for everyone else (and might make the thread seem less one sided ;)) :)

whoa. I am actually in love with you right now.

THEY HAVE PEANUT BUTTER CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES!!!!

Now if you can find me a Casio CA-90 1980 Calculator Watch, your debt will be repaid.

www.perpetualkid.com is a store I would definitely be ordering from if I had more disposable income. They have stuff like edible candy cane shotglasses, "Savin' for Good Weed" money boxes, and dish scrubbers you can blow bubbles with. Oh, and a sweet hotdog necklace. Unfortunately you will need to use a buying service as they don't ship to Australia.

If you've used a buying service in the past, please do quickly review it in this thread, as they can be of great use to an online shopper, even if just to reduce the absurd international shipping prices a few places seem to have.

You know what, as luck would have it, I know EXACTLY where you can get casio calculator watches - not sure of exact model but they have a few different ones.

And wonder of wonders, it's not online, but it is in Melbourne.

Know Your Product, just off High St (westgarth strip) in Northcote.

Resume online trading as of now :)
