Saw this on TV yesterday... I almost died!
Apparently, Sam Kekovich has been advertsing Australian Lamb for a few years now (the picture above is from last year's advert), driving his point home with his tough-talking views on what should be considered "un-Australian."
He argues (among other things) that as the "tide of un-Australianism rises", the loss of the Ashes, drug-smuggling models, riots on the beaches and vegetarianism... can all be solved by the consumption of lamb.
Sadly, some vegetarian groups and animal rights activists objected to the adverts. Happily, the Advertising Standards Board "allowed the ads to remain on the air, as they were considered satirical, despite viewers' complaints."
I'm beginning to warm to the aussie sense of humour.
