I did a search for this show and i couldnt find it.

Does anyone else watch it? I have been trying to stay in more lately and catching up on TV helps pass the nights. My bf suggested watching this and Ive become addicted which is strange cuz I dont usually like medical stuff. It certainly keeps me on the edge of my seat during some parts though.

i can't decide if i love this show or hate it...

the guy who plays house - hugh lawrie - will, for me, always be the prince of wales in blackadder the third. his work with stephen fry is also excellent.

so, to see him in this role is a little incongruous. i think this is a case of 'great idea, poorly done'.

the stories are good, the detective work is as exciting as it can be but if i have to hear him say (in a somewhat unconvincing american accent) "you may be his mother but i am the doctor who is trying to save his life" (or whatever) again, i shall turn it off.

i give it 2.8 out of 5.

supitwist!

good call. i dislike that too.

I have a new favorite show to go along CSI, it's called HOUSE. It's about an asshole docter (Dr. House) who is addicted to painkillers but at the same time is hailed as one of the most brilliant docters around. The plot is usually good, backup characters are all pretty solid and all in all it's just an enjoyable show to watch. Any other house fans out there ? Any people who absolutly HATE the show ?

“What else turns you on? Drugs? Casual sex? Rough sex? Casual rough sex? I'm a doctor, I need to know.”
- Deception

A quote from house above, and an except about the show below. I think some bluelighters might find it interesting.

DR. GREGORY HOUSE (Hugh Laurie) is devoid of bedside manner and wouldn’t even talk to his patients if he could get away with it. Dealing with his own constant physical pain, he uses a cane that seems to punctuate his acerbic, brutally honest demeanor. While his behavior can border on antisocial, House is a maverick physician whose unconventional thinking and flawless instincts have afforded him a great deal of respect. An infectious disease specialist, he’s a brilliant diagnostician who loves the challenges of the medical puzzles he must solve in order to save lives. House’s roster of medical cases comprises the inexplicable ones other doctors can’t solve, and he has assembled an elite team of young medical experts to help him in his effort to solve these diagnostic mysteries. House’s team includes neurologist DR. ERIC FOREMAN (Omar Epps), who might have a slightly suspect past; immunologist DR. ALLISON CAMERON (Jennifer Morrison); and old-money intensevist DR. ROBERT CHASE (Jesse Spencer). House also has a good friend in DR. JAMES WILSON (Robert Sean Leonard), an oncology specialist with whom he consults on a regular basis.

There’s also some volatile chemistry at work between House and DR. LISA CUDDY (Lisa Edelstein), the Dean of Medicine and hospital administrator. Cuddy is in constant conflict with House over his duties at the hospital, but even she must admit he may be the most brilliant doctor on the staff. With a patient’s life in the balance, House will do whatever it takes in the race against the clock to solve the case before it takes a life, from sending one of his team to break into a patient’s home in search of clues, to attempting a controversial, high-stakes, trial-and-error form of treatment to see how a patient responds. House’s methods may be suspect, but his results are not.

HOUSE is from Heel and Toe Films and Bad Hat Harry Productions in association with NBC Universal Television Studio. Paul Attanasio, Katie Jacobs, David Shore and Bryan Singer are executive producers.

Better than most of the normal gushing twaddle.

Incidentally, I thought Dennis Quaid's description of Brokeback Mountain as "a film genre that rhymes with 'chick flick'..." was probably the funniest joke of the night.

Alas, it fell flat.

Good show!

It doesn't suck me -- but then so few shows do -- however I still enjoy it when I watch it. I love Laurie , even though his character almost typifies what's wrong with modern medicine.

OK, so I watched a few more episodes of this... and I love it.

At least, I think I do.

The whole "I'm-a-genius-doctor-with-a-smartass-reply-for-every-concievable-threat-to-my-superiority" thing might start to grate on my nerves after a while.

But for now, I'm hooked.

I've never been a fan of "doctor shows" in general, but I admit that "House" is addictive. The guy is such a dick, yet so complex as well. It's an amazing show.

I have to admit, I love his attitude. It reminds me of how Deadwood, the entire show, is pretty much watched for one actor: just like this. That show IS Ian McShane...everyone else is just there to be a plot point for him.

I love anti-heros & antagonists. :)

I watched the last 20 minutes last night. It totally sucked me in.

All I can say about last nights episode is DAMN! House injecting himself with strange drugs to test a theory. Maggots eating dead flesh off some burn victem. Orgasms in the hypoberic chainber. LOL. I hope to god that stacy bitch stays out of the picture. Not to mention all his crazy hallucinations because of injecting himself with a mix of lsd and antidepressants to kill his migrain and shortwire the trip. LOL, right. And to finish it off he has a whore come over ? WTF ? This show goes from cheesy romance to absolute madness aweful quick. It was a still a great episode.

I'm no big fan of hospital shows either, but House and Grey's Anatomy are two of my favorite shows.

thatd be sweet to be a Dr. and get all the meds you want. though i thought they didnt have lsd at hospitals anymore.. must of been from house's own stash haha.

its a pretty good show but you can count on the samethings happenin every episode though. random illness, house knows how to fix him but nobody believes him.. then he does and everyones happy till the next episode.

kinda like the x files when scully never believed mulder on his crazy theories yet ever single case he was right
