Hey there,

I bought a foot of San Pedro about a month ago, and since then it has been sitting in my room, mainly in the dark.

I noticed a few days ago that it had started to go mouldy on one of the cut ends. The mould is grey-black and looks kinda like the mould that grows on old bread.

Is this bad?

Yes, mould is bad. Don't eat the mouldy bits. And be very wary about the rest of it too. Mescalin may a drug, but the actual cactus needs to be treated like a vegetable. Would you eat a carrot that had been sitting in a dark corner of your room for a month?

Were you keeping it the dark so you could plant it later? if so just trim off the mould and sprinkle it with some sulphur powder, its easily bought at most garden shops. Then place it into a paper bag and wait for it to callas, then try planting it. That is if you are wanting to plant it;)

hey so i am using this one for eating, not planting

so should i just cut off the mouldy bit or should i do something else?

Cut that end off and boil and prepare the rest as soon as you can.

Enjoy.
