Bluelight Summer Drinks - Sydney - 5th February - The Bank, Newtown

WHAT: Casual drinks between a bunch of Sydney Bluelighters, held on about a 2-monthly basis (everybody is welcome, especially those who have never met anybody before)

WHY: A chance for us all to socialise and get to know one another, in a casual setting, rather than at a hastily organised event meet-up which lasts 5 minutes and everybody misses each other anyway.

WHEN: Saturday, 5th February, 2005

WHERE: The Bank Hotel, Newtown

Sounds like a plan. But ya the 4th is definitely out! The 11th is fine by me. Where are we going to have it? Lets not have it in Newtown since that's where the Tuesdays thing is. City somewhere maybe? Must include:
- cheap beer
- hot bartenders
- decent crowd
- relaxed dress policy

Excellent, we are thinking on identical wavelengths here.

I agree with all those points....fuck going somewhere pretentious where we have to dress up and pay $7 for a beer. It's unlikely they'd let most of us in anyway :p

As for the crowd, well if we can get a sizable enough group together we'll be the 'decent crowd'!

%)

im up for it for sure, like most other ppl, 4th is homebake.

i cant think of any real decent CHEAP places on a saturday night in the city. Maybe somewhere like the Paragon or soemthing above macca's down near the quay, its reasonably cheap, it isnt to crowded, we will be able to sit around and have a chat, play a game of pool, crap like that.

Yesh, thats all i can think of...

the 11th is out for DJC and I although we could possibly briefly appear. However I'm always up for a Sunday arvo beer.

The problem with the desired casual dress code is Newtown is generally the best place for it. I can see this ending up at the Bank somehow.

Yeah i'm all for the city too. It's a *lot* easier to get home from than newtown.

How about somewhere in The Rocks? That's all pretty casual, and there's a lot of pubs to choose from.

Ah...up there for thinking Donny Don't...good call.

I'm still out though if it's the 11th :p

I'm the lowenbrau's biggest fan, but it doesn't satisfy criteria a) Cheep beer

I think most people would be turned off by the $17 price tag on 1L steins 8o

It's damn good beer, don't get me wrong...but yes, not really for the budget-conscious!

^ that's the only reason I posted it, I'm also lownebrau's biggest fan... alongside you :D

I just got back from Germany, so I may be biased somewhat....

Did you go the Hofbarauhaus?

That place rocks my socks...had the best night of my life there :D

Hehe is that you? rock on!

I wasn't there during oktoberfest....i was there in winter....but that places goes off every night of the week.

josh_nexus...if i rightly recall you have a wine cellar.

FUcking A you'll be getting smashed for xmas...if I was you I would NEVER be not smashed [not entirely true but taking poetic license for dramatic's sake...;) :p ]

shit me dead. i havent seen any bluelight crew for a while. why not have it at a place called the harbour view hotel

its just in the rocks under the harbour bridge, its got a balcony, its just a normal pub. if we do it on a week night it will be good, it doesnt get very busy there. weekends it does though.

It has to be a weekend....it's the only way to get numbers and everybody reaching maximum jollyness....

harbour view sounds alright....i'll take your word for it having never been there....but full = atmosphere, and if we kick it off early enough it shouldn't be a problem

and papermate, it would be good to reminisce about the old baulko days!
