film: farenhype 9/11

the government strikes back at moore (boo!)

America is asking if Fahrenheit 9/11 is a healthy dose of dissent, or shameful cowardice. If Moore really believes what he says, or if it's all about the money. Fahrenhype 9/11 plunges a big needle deep into Moore's methods and answers these questions, drawing both blood and bile. See how America has been lied to about the cause of 9/11. Lied to about the truth of Islamic fascism. Lied to about how best to make America safe.

Michael Moore has always had a strong opinion that I think he honestly believes in when making his documentaries and writing his books. Plus, if you are skeptical about Fahrenheit 9/11 check out www.michaelmoore.com where you will be provided links to back up factual information that he states in the movie.

Michael Moore went on Leno last night and offered his movie to the Sinclair Broadcasting group to play for free in response to their wanting to air the anti-Kerry ad. Just to give them the opportunity to show they're not biased.

That's a class move!

...as a sidenote to the Sinclair comment. Sinclair saw its stock price plummet and had to face some very angry shareholders because of its decision to air the anti-Kerry documentary. Subsequently, they have decided to show only certain portions of the Kerry program. Lions Gate, the company that released Fahrenheit 9/11, on the other hand, saw its profits go through the roof.

More on topic -- Dick Morris, the writer and producer of Fahrenhype 9/11, was formerly a top Democratic operative and strategist in the Clinton White House. When he was caught with a hooker during the party's 1996 convention, he was forced out. This man definitely has an axe to grind and no credibility.

If you've studied Dick Morris on television whatsoever you'd realize he's a very unbiased and well-written and spoken political analyst. He got caught with a hooker. Big deal. Michael Moore is probably the worst documentarian in the world, profiting on "at the moment" issues. He's a film maker and not a journalist, political scientist, or even objectively educated on the issues. If he had any real journalistic integrity he'd release his documentaries on television and not in the theaters. He can say all the bullshit he wants, but he was in it for the $100 million, not to "open peoples' eyes". He's a propagandist, not a journalist. Plain and simple. Bowling for Columbine was complete bullshit as well. Why doesn't Moore take some of that money and use it to help people who need it?

Sorry, edited it because I was a little too harsh on M. M...personal attacks are messed up, I agree.

^ yep.

JTMarlin, you criticise moore for loosely slinging stereotypes but you don't hesitate to do the same yourself: "...like anyone on this message board has ANY room to talk about people's vices". that, to me, devalues your post considerably.

it's clear you dislike moore - if you have a problem with him, there are other threads here and elsewhere (e.g. ce&p) to vent more generally.

please let's keep this thread on the topic of the subject - have you seen it?.

i have not seen it so i'm outy!

He is desperate.. The PPV deal fell through and now he has no host for his F911 virus.

that's the biggest bunch of horseshit i've ever read from you,

this Fahrenhype shit is just someone trying to make money off of Moore's success and poorly at that.

while i disagree strongly with some of moore's techniques, you just gotta laugh at any documentary with the tagline: "You knew it was a lie... Now you'll know why."

The deal "fell through."

Survey says...........wrong!

In-Demand broke their contract, the deal just didn't "fall through" like you say. I don't blame Moore for counting on a company like In-Demand to hold true to their word. :\

more (or Moore) like In Demand caved into the pressure they were hit with from all the fucking politicians...fuck bush

Michael Moore plays on peoples' emotions, not facts per se. Yes, F911 is full of facts, but they are all taken out of CONTEXT which is the most important part of a documentary. Watch "Triumph of the Will" from 1936 Nazi Germany...a perfect example of twisting facts and using film to make something false seem factual.

the media (left-wing biased or right-wing biased depending on your point of view) have been doing this for years. if it's taken michael moore's use of this technique (ironically or not) to make some people think for themselves about the veracity of media in general, that's a good thing.

Yeah, that's true. But some people take it for the truth, that's why people need to read more and stop getting their beliefs from television I guess.

most people have taken it as a wake up call and will actually get off their arse and vote this time.

..as well, Michael Moore does not even have a college education--which makes me laugh when he states how unintelligent particular politicians are who have AT LEAST 4 years (probably more like 8 years) of education on him.

simply attending college doesn't automatically make somebody smart.

i've known many people who passed through higher education and were barely affected. conversely, i've met some extremely smart people who do not have a degree or who did not attend college.
