hi all, someone emailed me this thought you'd enjoy it.
> Love to you all.....
>
> WorldWide Clubbers Manifesto
>
> Our emotional state of choice is Ecstasy. Our nourishment of
> choice is Love. Our addiction of choice is technology. Our religion
> of choice is music. Our currency of choice is knowledge. Our
> politics of choice is none. Our society of choice is utopian though
> we know it will never be.
>
> You may hate us. You may dismiss us. You may misunderstand us. You may
> be unaware of our existence. We can only hope you do not care to judge us,
> because we would never judge you. We are not criminals. We are not
> disillusioned. We are not drug addicts. We are not naive children. We are
> one massive, global, tribal village that transcends man-made law, physical
> geography, and time itself. We are The Massive. One Massive.
>
> We were first drawn by the sound. From far away, the thunderous,
> muffled, echoing beat was comparable to a mother's heart soothing
> a child in her womb of concrete, steel, and electrical wiring. We
> were drawn back into this womb, and there, in the heat, dampness,
> and darkness of it, we came to accept that we are all equal. Not
> only to the darkness, and to ourselves, but to the very music
> slamming into us and passing through our souls: we are all equal.
> And somewhere around 35Hz we could feel the hand of God at our
> backs, pushing us forward, pushing us to push ourselves to
> strengthen our minds, our bodies, and our spirits. Pushing us to
> turn to the person beside us to join hands and uplift them by
> sharing the uncontrollable joy we felt from creating this magical
> bubble that can, for one evening, protect us from the horrors,
> atrocities, and pollution of the outside world. It is in that very
> instant, with these initial realizations that each of us was truly
> born.
>
>
> We continue to pack our bodies into clubs, or warehouses, or buildings
> you've abandoned and left for naught, and we bring life to them for one
> night. Strong, throbbing, vibrant life in it's purest, most
> intense, most hedonistic form. In these makeshift spaces, we seek
> to shed ourselves of the burden of uncertainty for a future you have
> been unable to stabilize and secure for us. We seek to relinquish
> our inhibitions, and free ourselves from the shackles and restraints
> you've put on us for your own peace of mind. We seek to re-write
> the programming that you have tried to indoctrinate us with since
> the moment we were born. Programming that tells us to hate, that
> tells us to judge, that tells us to stuff ourselves into the nearest and
> most convenient pigeon hole possible. Programming that even tells
> us to climb ladders for you, jump through hoops, and run through
> mazes and on hamster wheels. Programming that tells us to eat
> from the shiny silver spoon you are trying to feed us with, instead of
> nourish ourselves with our own capable hands. Programming that
> tells us to close our minds, instead of open them.
>
> Until the sun rises to burn our eyes by revealing the distopian
> reality of a world you've created for us, we dance fiercely with our
> brothers and sisters in celebration of our life, of our culture, and of the
> values we believe in: Peace, Love, Freedom, Tolerance, Unity,
> Harmony, Expression, Responsibility and Respect.
>
> Our enemy of choice is ignorance. Our weapon of choice is information.
> Our crime of choice is breaking and challenging whatever laws you feel you
> need to put in place to stop us from celebrating our existence. But know
> that while you may shut down any given party, on any given night, in any
> given city, in any given country or continent on this beautiful planet, you

> And this is my manifesto.

Im speechless
What a post !!!!
Unreal
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just had a fellow bluelighter email this to me. I just love it!!! It says everything I think and feel about what I do with most of my time. The bit about god and stuff gets a little trippy for me but the first and last paragraphs are what does it for me.
Thanks

Very cool piece. Thanks for that email dangermouse..
One question though: IS it really like that amongst us? Do you truly feel that ppl in the "scene" are unprejudiced, unbiased and do not judge? Your thoughts?

I think its a great 'manifesto'.
and the description is done well.
yet GreenAlien has a point.
Is it really like that? we're the only ones that can analyse ourselves.
and I dont want to cause debate.
but we have to be honest with ourselves and honest with each other.
think about it.

This is great

Not to take anything away from this but has anyone red the hackers manifesto? Very similar.

eh seen one manifesto you seen em all...
wink.gif

oh this has been here before, titled the ravers manifesto... and it didnt have anything to do with drugs then either...
can i move it?

i think that the scene looks like that on a whole, but when you get closer up you see that not all parties have that *unity* happening etc etc...
it doens't matter though. that unity is the aim of most people at the party, i know it is mine. as long as i believe this then whatever politics happens behind the scenes i tend to ignore.
if the politics (or the crowd) annoy me i just leave the party. there will always be better parties.

This is how it should be at all parties.
Unfortunately, these days it isn't, but there is no feeling like the feeling you get when you walk into a party knowing that the feeling and the vibe is going to be like this manefesto.
Absolutely fucking unbelievable!

i so love that idea of the "one massive". i've read that a few times now and it still makes me go all warm and fuzzy.
"the party will never end"
btw - my mate is using this for his year 12 drama monolugue, cant wait to see it.

Please don't give me a beatdown for questioning some of this.

But when there's stuff on my chest(bar the hair
frown.gif
), I feel it my duty to grasp it and rip it off, and while I can relate to quite a bit of the emotive language used, the feeling of the overpowering music..but there is some stuff which I can't quite fathom, the supposed apolitical nature of a manifesto?!?!? can such a strong sense of being, hedonism, enlightenment exist outside of drugs which have to be bought with capital & the 'real world'? does the feeling die if the drugs are totally obliterated from earth.. and does that matter?...
>Programming that tells us to hate, that
>tells us to judge, that tells us to stuff >ourselves into the nearest and >most convenient pigeon hole possible.
Isn't all this more or less a contradiction?
The manifesto is telling who exactly a clubber/raver should hate (people who 'don't understand' c'ing/r'ing) and how to judge them (obviously as people who just don't/can't and won't get it, which may be true at some times, but can also be complete BS as r'ing and c'ing isn't the be-all and end-all to our existence) and finally having a manifesto to follow in order to be a c'er/r'er, you are pigeonholeing behaviour and character.
I'm not quite sure, so many questions and ideas came to mind when I read this and whilst I can relate, I just don't think it's complete.
