being the big game nerd I am I thought the first movie sucked but only because I LOVED the very first game, if i wasn't a big fan of the first RE yeah i probably would have thought it was an ok movie, I might catch the second during the afternoon for 4 bucks

Ah, you see I hated the game and could never really get into it. But the movie was fantastic. If you just take the movie at face value and don't think of the game then it is a pretty good action/sci-fi movie.

Do games ever translate well to movies anyway? Think Street Fighter.

I'm excited! The first RE was good, a little different from the game, but I guess as far as game-to-movie transitions go, this was one of the better.

It's got a different director than the first, so hopefully he doesn't drop the ball, but I think this movie has potential to be rather good :)

Yeah I would have loved the movie a lot more if they had of stuck to the story of the game which was much darker and in depth.

For what it was it wasn't too bad of a movie, definately one of the better video game to movie conversions...

My point: I'm looking forward to this with mixed emotions...

* edit * - Just looked at the site and I am definately a lot more excited. Looks like it is going to be based around Resident Evil 3 and has a few of the characters from that game.

And the chick playing Jill looks suited to the part :) (Definately my fav. RE characters, besides Wesker of course).

It's going to have the nemesis with the rocket launcher too... Cool :)

Well just saw the second movie. Honestly I thought it was better than the first but still not GREAT. I don't know, I thought the whole Alice fighting Nemisis at the end was kinda corny, the whole having a heartfelt moment but thats just me, Glad I only paid the bargain Matinee Price of 4 bucks

I didn't like the first one much, but the trailers for this do look interesting. I'm actually looking forward to it.

Ya... I saw this movie last night and it was wierd.... it kinda started out bad but then ended up being pretty good. The story line was very good tho IMO, but still very distant fromt he video game story line.

Well, the Sept release was only for america so I've only just seen this movie now in the UK.

I don't think it was as good as the first one. Apocalypse may be more true to the original RE game storyline but it was just a little bit too over the top this time around.

Still an enjoyable action movie though. And you can't go too far wrong with Milla Jovovich heading the cast. That woman is compelling.

I liked the first one better.

I've never played the game, but it does seem very video game'ish. Not that I have a problem with that. Just wish they'd give you a joystick with your popcorn.

I watched it last night. It was rather odd. Not really much of a zombie film, but reasonably entertaining none the less. It was actually better than I thought it would be, but the first is definately better.

As I have said before: I would totally turn for Milla.

Milla + zombies + lots of dumb violence = awesome film. I saw the trailer for this the other day while waiting for the stupid shark movie to come on (Open Water). Every other preview I was all like "Look out there's a shark!" but as soon as RE: Apocalypse came on, I was all whispers and "SSSH!!!!! It's Milla!!"

I think I will enjoy this film. =D

Only played the first game on ps1, never saw the first movie.

At a free screening tonight saw this. It's fun, but really stupid.

"This isn't mutation! It's evolution!"

i thought this movie was alot better thaan i thought. it was a little too fancy with the fight scenes which kinda bothered me a lil. but whoever played jill is soooooo fucking hot

This movie sucked.

I loved the first one...

This second one was more action than horror... Did not like the way it was directed...

Bleh it was just awful. I should have seen Anacondas. ;)

apparently it's a lot better than Anacondas. 8(

But yea, I agree, the direction was really annoying a lot of the time. Apart from that, quite enjoyable.

Maybe I am just jaded after the brilliance that was Dawn of the Dead.

But basically RE2 just felt like a really well made telemovie to me... certainly not a big budget blockbuster.

- The Nemesis looked ridiculous and fake.

- The start where it cut back to footage of RE1 to give the backstory seemed tacky.. what blockbuster movie does that?

- So many plotholes...

- It just seemed... forced. One example - Obviously the zombie dogs were a big hit in the first one, so they HAD to be in this one..There were more, I just cannot be bothered.

It sadly fell into the Sequel-Trap. Go see AvP again for a good movie of the Monster/Horror genre :)

Definately not what i would call a "good film", but entertaining and true to the games, which i happen to completely adore.

And Shnouzerpuff, I'm sorry, but AvP was possibly one of the biggest disappointments of my life. Then again, Paul Anderson, what can you expect. :).

Peace
